10 Marvel and DC Crossovers We’d Love To See in Movies

[

The years of 2025 and 2026 are those of the Marvel and DC crossovers. In 2025, comic book readers were treated to the likes of DC/MARVEL: BATMAN/DEADPOOL #1 (2025) and MARVEL/DC: DEADPOOL/BATMAN #1 (2025), and in 2026, they’re getting the even cooler DC/MARVEL: SUPERMAN/SPIDER-MAN #1 (2026) and MARVEL/DC: SPIDER-MAN/SUPERMAN #1 (2026). With this in mind, it might be time for fans to finally get this in the movies.

There have been rumors and speculation about a potential movie crossover for quite some time, and now that James Gunn is head of DC Studios—having his previous connection with Marvel Studios—there is more of a chance than ever before. Which heroes would be the coolest to see share the screen, though? If they’re ever going to make this happen in a film, there are some characters that would be amazing to finally see together.

10

The Flash and Silver Surfer

The Flash hasn’t made his appearance in the DCU, no, but let’s be real, if audiences are going to be seeing Marvel and DC crossover in cinema, it won’t happen for quite some time, anyway. So, thinking far into the future, a great crossover to see would most certainly be the likes of The Flash and Silver Surfer—whether that be Norrin Radd or The Fantastic Four: First Steps‘ Shalla-Bal (Julia Garner).

While it may not be the first pair of characters that most think of, it’s actually a perfect one, the more one thinks about it. Silver Surfer is arguably one of the fastest Marvel heroes of all time. The only DC heroes that could possibly catch up to this cosmic hero is the likes of Wally West’s Flash. Seeing these two come together and share the speedways of Earth or space would be mesmerizing.

Wonder Woman and Thor

Few heroes hold the kind of mystical strength that Thor has like the one and only Wonder Woman. People love Thor (Chris Hemsworth) in the MCU, and are always happy to see more of him. So long as he doesn’t die in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, he would be the perfect hero to bring together with Wonder Woman.

The two of them are the respective godly heroes of their respective teams. With Thor representing and coming from Norse mythology and Wonder Woman being the same kind of character for Greek mythology, they would have such a fun dynamic, bringing the two mythologies together for one of the first times on screen.

8

Red Hood and The Punisher

While in comics and fan art, The Punisher and Batman often get paired up, he’s actually far more suitable with the Bat’s old mentee, Jason Todd, aka Red Hood. After being murdered by the Joker, then resurrected, Jason became a much more vengeful character that has extremely similar ideologies to Marvel’s punishing anti-hero. This already makes them a great fit for a team-up.

With Punisher’s (Jon Bernthal) inclusion in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, it’s clear that Marvel Studios wants to keep him around for a while, so if a DC/Marvel crossover ever came out, Jon Bernthal would most certainly have a fun time crafting a new dynamic with whoever plays Jason. The two setting out together on a mission of vengeance would be violent, brutal, and so much fun.

Batman Beyond and Spider-Man 2099

If the MCU and DCU don’t ever come together, who’s to say that the animated universes can’t? The Dark Knight of the future was born (and has only been featured in) animation, and the Spidey of the year 2099 was just brought to screen in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. What makes this more possible is the fact that DC has tried to make a Batman Beyond film happen numerous times, so it’s not like they’d be averse to bringing him to the big screen.

These characters come from profoundly similar worlds, so they’d both have technology akin to one another, and both are legacy characters—meaning each struggles with being the “next in line” for their respective mantles. The back and forth these two could have is also exciting to think about, as Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac) is more of a serious, stern, and, honestly, Batman-type of character, while the young Batman (Will Friedle) is more lighthearted.

6

Krypto and Cosmo the Dogs

The two greatest pups in DC and Marvel, Krypto (Ozu the Dog) and Cosmo (Maria Bakalova) feel like a match made in heaven. With Krypto’s kryptonian abilities and Cosmo’s telepathy, these two could have an incredibly fun adventure together, making for a team-up that could truly be exciting. It would be very entertaining to see these two come together to save a captured Superman (David Corenswet) and/or Guardians.

They were some of the highlights of their respective movie appearances—Superman and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3—so everyone would certainly be amped to see them together. People often connect with animals far easier and deeper than human characters, meaning audiences could get truly invested in this pairing.

5

The Titans and X-Men

Avengers: Doomsday—potentially even Spider-Man: Brand New Day if Sadie Sink really is playing Jean Grey—is finally bringing the X-Men back to cinema in full-force, meaning they’ll be having a much larger role in the next phase of the MCU. This, combined with there being a Titans film in development—written by the Supergirl writer, Ana Nogueira—makes these two teams coming together all the more possible.

The Titans (mostly called the Teen Titans) are typically made up of the younger characters—sidekicks, typically—of the DC world. On the other hand, the X-Men originate from a school for gifted youngsters. So, these two younger teams (most of the time for X-Men, that is) would be a perfect fit for each other. They’ve even crossed over before in comics in the classic The Uncanny X-Men and The New Teen Titans #1 (1982), so the studios could simply adapt this story if they wanted to.

4

Green Lantern and Nova

After so long, the Green Lantern Corps is returning to live-action in 2026 with DC Studios’ Lanterns original series. Fans of the Marvel Comics universe know that they have a very similar corps of their own: the Nova Corps. While a version of them appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy, they didn’t depict the iteration from the books, which brought forth two heroes who would become known simply as Nova—Richard Rider and Sam Alexander.

With Lanterns featuring both Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) and Jon Stewart (Aaron Pierre), it’s undeniable that it would be really cool to see those two team up with the likes of Richard and Sam, who would provide an extremely similar dynamic. People have been asking for a Nova project in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for years, so one can only hope they get that before a potential DC/Marvel team-up.

Batman and Iron Man

Billionaires, playboys, philanthropists. Batman and Iron Man are the respective extremely rich, powerless heroes of their universes. Using advanced technology and their vast wealth, these two, despite having no powers, have ended up becoming some of the most famous and important characters in their worlds.

Seeing these two geniuses come together would be so dang interesting. Bruce introducing Tony to Wayne tech and Tony doing the same for Bruce is such a riveting concept to think about. Imagine a world in which the Armored Avenger makes The Dark Knight a suit and then the dark DC hero provides Iron Man with Bat gadgets and more… what a team-up that would be!

2

The Justice League and The Avengers

Lots of general audiences may not know this, but the two biggest teams in the DC and Marvel Comics universe, The Justice League and The Avengers, have actually crossed over in the past via comic books (of course). The most notable crossover they’ve had is the comic series known as JLA/Avengers (2003), which was a huge event at the time.

The Justice League hasn’t formed in the DCU yet, but they’re most certainly on their way. So, by the time a movie like this could happen, they’d definitely be established. Seeing them potentially go head-to-head first and then team up against a greater threat after could make for a great giant event film that could surpass anything that Avengers: Secret Wars has to offer.

1

Superman and Spider-Man

As stated, the 2026 crossover series for Marvel and DC—DC/MARVEL: SUPERMAN/SPIDER-MAN #1 (2026) and MARVEL/DC: SPIDER-MAN/SUPERMAN #1 (2026)—are featuring the two pillars of hope in both comic universes. These comics are proof that this team-up is a perfect one and fits extremely well. Despite both being the definition of heroism for Marvel and DC, they also are still so different, which provides a great dynamic.

In the movies, imagine Tom Holland and David Corenswet coming together to face the villain of the week. What a perfect combination that would be. Holland and Corenswet would have the greatest dynamic, which would keep audiences engaged the entire way through. Hopefully the two comics coming out this year are a tease that these two could one day come together on screen… They’ve actually crossed over multiple times now, with some other ones in the past, and they are all the proof in the pudding that it’s time to get this crossover already!
