The Spring 2026 anime season, or perhaps more accurately, the season of the isekai, is officially here. Unlike the last few seasonal drops, the Spring 2026 lineup is completely overrun by the genre, bringing back some of the biggest and most popular franchises around.
After a phenomenal Winter 2026 slate set the bar so high for the first quarter of the year, the new spring titles have to step up and keep that incredible momentum rolling right into the summer.

Dorohedoro Season 2
Release Date: April 1, 2026 | Streaming Platform: Netflix & Crunchyroll
Anime fans are pretty used to sitting through long breaks between seasons, but the wait following the 2020 release of Dorohedoro was a test for even the most dedicated fans. That original run received a lot of praise for perfectly capturing Q Hayashida’s highly detailed art style by blending 3D and 2D animation that worked flawlessly.
At long last, Dorohedoro Season 2 is finally arriving to jump right back into the life of Caiman, an amnesiac with a lizard for a head, who is desperately trying to find the sorcerer who cursed him. What makes this show such a highlight for the spring schedule is not just its central mystery.
It’s how the series manages to mix violent, gory fights with a group of villains and heroes that are genuinely lovable. After waiting six whole years, simply watching the Hole return to screen is a massive event on its own.

Marriagetoxin
Release Date: April 7, 2026 | Streaming Platform: Crunchyroll
Most battle shonen series tend to follow the same path of getting stronger, beating the bad guy, and protecting the world. But every once in a while, a series comes along that takes those usual action tropes and mixes them up with a totally absurd premise, and Marriagetoxin does exactly that. The story follows Hikaru Gero, a poison-wielding hitman who is incredibly lethal in a fight, but completely freezes up when it comes to talking to women.
20 Best Enemies To Lovers Anime
Many of anime’s best couples start out as bitter enemies before becoming fiercely devoted lovers in perfect examples of the enemies-to-lovers trope.
After Gero’s family tries to force his sister into an arranged marriage to protect their bloodline, he decides to step in and find a bride himself. To make this happen, he ends up hiring a professional marriage swindler named Kinosaki to work as his personal dating coach.

Daemons of the Shadow Realm
Release Date: April 4, 2026 | Streaming Platform: Crunchyroll
It isn’t every day that a manga creator teams up with the same studio that turned their biggest series into a worldwide hit. That is exactly what makes the upcoming release of Daemons of the Shadow Realm so exciting. By reuniting Fullmetal Alchemist creator Hiromu Arakawa with Studio Bones, this two-cour anime trades classic alchemy for a modern supernatural combat system centered around paired spirits called Daemons.
The plot follows Yuru, a boy who grew up in a very isolated, traditional village whose peaceful life is completely changed by a sudden raid from modern tactical forces. This violent ambush drags him directly into a modern urban war right alongside his estranged twin sister, Asa.
Since Arakawa and Studio Bones already have such a legendary track record together, fans know this anime is in great hands.
The studio already understands how to bring her unique character designs and grounded fighting styles to life on screen, which easily makes this one a sure-fire hit on the spring anime calendar.

The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten Season 2
Release Date: April 3, 2026 | Streaming Platform: Crunchyroll
The biggest hurdle for most romance anime is figuring out where the story goes after the main characters finally start dating. Luckily, The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten does not really have to worry about that issue at all.
After dedicating its first season to slowly growing a very sweet bond between Amane and Mahiru, the finale rewarded fans by officially making them a couple. Heading into the second season, the anime no longer needs to drag out that usual awkward phase before a confession just to keep viewers interested.
Since the series has always been about cute, relaxing daily interactions rather than unnecessary drama, watching them figure out how to be in a real relationship is going to be a great switch-up for the romance genre.

Liar Game
Release Date: April 6, 2026 | Streaming Platform: Crunchyroll
As the series that reinvented the psychological survival genre, Liar Game served as a massive inspiration for Squid Game. After years of anticipation, the iconic manga is finally hitting the screen with an anime adaptation releasing this April.
The series follows Nao Kanzaki, an incredibly honest girl who suddenly gets dragged into a brutal underground tournament where everyone lies to win. To survive these intense mind games and avoid a life-ruining debt, she teams up with Akiyama, a genius ex-swindler.
The best part about Liar Game is how it completely ignores physical fights and bloody death traps. The entire show focuses purely on game theory, brutal betrayals, and heavy psychological warfare, making it a must-watch title for the Spring 2026 anime lineup.

Dr. Stone: Science Future Part 3
Release Date: April 2, 2026 | Streaming Platform: Crunchyroll & Netflix
When a long-running shonen series enters its final arc, fans always worry if the ending will actually live up to all the hype. For Dr. Stone, that moment is finally happening this spring with Science Future Part 3.
After spending multiple seasons watching Senku Ishigami rebuild the entire world from scratch, going all the way from banging rocks together to building a rocket, the series is finally tackling the core mystery that started the whole story.
Every Long-Running Anime Series Ending in 2026
It’s the end of an era for several beloved anime franchises that will conclude this year. Here are all the long-running anime series ending in 2026.
The Kingdom of Science has its most challenging mission yet. They need to travel all the way up to the moon and face “Why-man,” the mysterious villain who triggered the petrification beam and froze humanity thousands of years ago.

Witch Hat Atelier
Release Date: April 6, 2026 | Streaming Platform: Crunchyroll
As an Eisner Award-winning masterpiece, Kamome Shirahama’s Witch Hat Atelier is widely known as one of the most gorgeous fantasy manga in print. Since its artwork is so famous, the brand-new Spring 2026 anime adaptation has some huge visual expectations to meet.
The series is all about Coco, a normal girl who accidentally petrifies her mom after finding out that magic is drawn using a specific kind of ink rather than inherited at birth. Desperate to undo the spell, she becomes an apprentice under a veteran witch named Qifrey.
What really makes this series stand out isn’t just the pretty artwork, but its world-building. By treating spell-casting as a strict, step-by-step art form rather than just a random superpower, Witch Hat Atelier gives the standard fantasy genre a much-needed mechanical overhaul.

Classroom of the Elite 4th Season: Second Year, First Semester
Release Date: April 1, 2026 | Streaming Platform: Crunchyroll & Netflix
Classroom of the Elite spent its first three seasons relying heavily on a delicate balance of high school politics and quiet manipulation. But with Season 4 dropping this Spring 2026, that relaxed pacing is completely out the window.
As the anime officially enters the Second Year arc, Kiyotaka Ayanokoji’s days of just pulling strings from the shadows are over. A new batch of first-years is joining the school, and hiding among them are White Room enforcers sent specifically to get him expelled.
Ayanokoji’s usual trick of acting like an average student simply won’t work out anymore. Fans have waited a long time to see the mastermind finally pushed to his limits, making this new season incredibly exciting.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4
Release Date: April 3, 2026 | Streaming Platform: Crunchyroll & Netflix
Most isekai anime lose their momentum the second the main character gets too powerful, but That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime fixes that issue by focusing so much on running a nation. While Season 3 spent a lot of time on a slow, diplomatic route to establish the Jura Tempest Federation as a major world power, the fourth season is going to deliver the payoff for all of that setup.
There Aren’t Many 10/10 Isekai Anime, But These 8 Are Perfect From Start To Finish
Isekai has become one of the most popular genres of the past few years, and these entries are some of the few that are great from start to finish.
Since Rimuru is now an official Awakened Demon Lord, the target on his back has gotten bigger than ever. This spring, the series moves straight into direct conflict as the Rosso family and competing factions actively plot to destroy Tempest. Anyone who patiently sat through the political drama of the last season will finally get to see all that tension break out into a full-scale war.

Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Season 4
Release Date: April 8, 2026 | Streaming Platform: Crunchyroll
When a series puts its protagonist through as much relentless suffering as Re:ZERO, it is hard to imagine how things could possibly get worse. But as Season 4 premieres this spring, fans really need to prepare for the absolute darkest storyline the anime has ever done.
Following all the action-heavy fights in Priestella from the last season, the series is completely changing its tone to an isolated psychological horror story. Subaru and his camp travel out into the highly dangerous Augria Sand Dunes to reach the Pleiades Watchtower, trying desperately to find a cure for the people attacked by the Sin Archbishops.
Fans of the original light novels have hyped this specific arc up for a long time, often calling it the absolute peak of the entire franchise. It completely tears down Subaru’s newly earned confidence and throws the entire cast into a psychological nightmare where they cannot even trust each other anymore.
Since the Spring 2026 anime season is so packed with incredible shows, not every great release could actually fit onto a single list. Even so, there are still a handful of other titles that are worth checking out.
That honorable mention lineup includes Akane-banashi, Wistoria: Wand and Sword Season 2, I Made Friends with the Second Prettiest Girl in My Class, and the long-awaited return of Ascendance of a Bookworm.
Also, while the One Piece Elbaph Arc is technically airing like a standard seasonal anime, a massive franchise like that really does not need any more spotlight than it already has.
