Power has always been at the heart of Jujutsu Kaisen. From the moment Yuji Itadori entered the world of curses, Gege Akutami made it clear that not every battle could be won through determination alone. The series is built around overwhelming strength, impossible techniques, and fighters capable of reshaping entire battlefields, creating one of modern shōnen’s most competitive power hierarchies.
Across its story, Jujutsu Kaisen introduced an incredible range of elite sorcerers, cursed spirits, reincarnated players, and deadly anomalies whose abilities constantly pushed the limits of the power system. Some dominated through unmatched cursed energy, while others relied on genius tactics or physical prowess that defied conventional sorcery. With the manga complete and the anime continuing to adapt its biggest arcs, now is the perfect time to look back at the franchise’s most formidable characters.

Jogo
Debuted in Chapter #10 and Season 1, Episode 5
It’s easy to underestimate Jogo because so many of his biggest fights were against Gojo and Sukuna, but those matchups hide just how terrifying he truly was. As one of the Disaster Curses, he possessed cursed energy that rivaled many special-grade sorcerers.
His volcanic techniques generate massive explosions capable of leveling entire city blocks, while his Domain Expansion blankets opponents in an environment of overwhelming heat. Outside of the series’ absolute elite, very few characters could have survived a serious fight against Jogo, making him one of the strongest cursed spirits ever created.

Kinji Hakari
Debuted in Chapter #153 and Season 3, Episode 5
Hakari’s strength fluctuates more than almost anyone else’s, but when everything lines up, he becomes practically impossible to kill. His Domain Expansion, Idle Death Gamble, rewards him with an incredible jackpot that grants effectively limitless cursed energy for several minutes.
During that state, Hakari automatically regenerates from injuries that would instantly kill other sorcerers, allowing him to outlast enemies through sheer endurance. His battle against Kashimo demonstrated that once he hits a jackpot, only the absolute strongest fighters have any realistic chance of putting him down.

Hajime Kashimo
Debuted in Chapter #158 and Season 4
One of the deadliest reincarnated sorcerers in the Culling Game, Hajime Kashimo spent centuries waiting for the opportunity to challenge Sukuna. His confidence wasn’t empty bravado, because few fighters in the series possessed his combination of combat instincts, speed, and devastating cursed energy output.
Kashimo’s electricity-based cursed energy naturally shocks opponents with every strike, making even close-range exchanges incredibly dangerous. After activating his one-time Mythical Beast Amber technique, his body transformed into a living weapon capable of overwhelming nearly any opponent. Although Sukuna ultimately defeated him, Kashimo proved why he belonged among history’s strongest sorcerers.

Yuki Tsukumo
Debuted in Chapter #50 and Season 1, Episode 20
Although she is sometimes underestimated, Yuki Tsukumo’s power is definitely nothing to sneeze at. As well as being a special grade sorcerer, she is very motivated and driven. Yuki is a very independent sorcerer and opts to do things her own way rather than following the plans of others, pushing back against authority in many circumstances.
Jujutsu Kaisen: All of the Culling Game’s Players Ranked Weakest to Strongest
The Culling Game has some of the strongest characters in Jujutsu Kaisen, and here’s where each player ranks in this brutal death battle.
Shockingly, it seems Yuki might not even need the help or collaboration of others to take down curses, because she is a great success at it all on her own. Her Star Rage Cursed Technique and shikigami Garuda work in tandem to deal devastating blows and swiftly defeat her enemies. She is a truly strong hero and capable of dealing some serious damage with her Cursed Energy and top-notch battle skills using both her own talents and the help Garuda provides. She can also harness Reverse Cursed Technique, something few sorcerers can do.
11
Suguru Geto
Debuted in Chapter #10 and Season 1, Episode 5
A former hero turned villain, Geto is one of four special-grade sorcerers recognized by Jujutsu High. The former hero’s true claim to fame is his unreasonable reserve of cursed energy, which lets him manipulate and control thousands of powerful cursed spirits without much effort. Geto can then combine those curses into the unreasonably powerful Maximum Uzumaki attack.
Even if he didn’t have an abundant supply of cursed energy, Geto’s mastery of hand-to-hand combat puts him among Jujutsu Kaisen’s strongest martial artists. It’s a testament to the absurd power levels reached by some of Jujutsu Kaisen’s strongest characters that Geto isn’t the series’ most powerful character.
10
Rika Orimoto
Debuted in Chapter #0-1 and Jujutsu Kaisen 0
Rika Orimoto was once human, but after an untimely demise in a horrific accident, she became a special grade vengeful cursed spirit. She was best friends with Yuta Okkotsu before her passing and thus became incredibly devoted to protecting the boy, even in death. Spurred on by her love for Yuta, she is one of the most powerful and relentless cursed spirits in the entire series.
Her greatest strength is that she possesses absolutely jaw-dropping amounts of Cursed Energy, ready to unleash at a moment’s notice. When Geto threatened Yuta in JJK 0, she leapt in instantly to impressively protect him, proving she will stop at nothing to make sure her beloved friend stays safe. Her passionate love for Yuta, coupled with her physical abilities, makes her one of Jujutsu Kaisen’s most terrifyingly mighty cursed spirits.
9
Toji Fushiguro
Debuted in Chapter #66 and Season 2, Episode 1
One of the few non-curse users among Jujutsu Kaisen’s strongest characters, Megumi’s father is an absolutely monstrous fighter who should not be underestimated. Taking on a jujutsu sorcerer like Geto and winning without much hassle is a tall order. Effortlessly beating Gojo should basically be impossible.
What makes Fushiguro so intimidating is his raw strength and his in-depth knowledge of the sorcerer community. His bloodlust and ability to take on even the strongest sorcerers rightly earned him the title Sorcerer Killer. Though a handful of sorcerers have surpassed Toji since his time, in his prime, he was close to unstoppable.
8
Maki Zen’in
Debuted in Chapter #0–1 and Season 1, Episode 5
Following the destruction of the Zen’in Clan, Maki underwent a complete transformation that elevated her to a level comparable to Toji Fushiguro. By abandoning cursed energy entirely through her Heavenly Restriction, she gained monstrous physical abilities that most sorcerers simply cannot match.
Her enhanced speed, senses, and overwhelming strength allow her to battle special-grade opponents without relying on cursed techniques. Combined with her mastery of cursed tools and relentless combat instincts, Maki became one of humanity’s greatest weapons during the final conflict against Sukuna.
7
Yorozu
Debuted in Chapter #211
As another participant in the Culling Game, Yorozu was a powerful sorcerer who had previously been deceased, yet she was brought back, and allowed to best others in an attempt to fight Sukuna. She actually proved to be on par with Sukuna for a large part of their fight, showcasing her capability.
Like Mai, Yorozu was able to construct objects out of cursed energy, but she was far more efficient with using her abilities without tiring out her reserves to an extreme degree. From appendages to armor to liquid metal, Yorozu was a creative and resourceful sorcerer who gained recognition for her combat abilities.
6
Mahoraga
Debuted in Chapter #117 and Episode 40
Mahoraga is an immensely powerful shikigami, able to be initially summoned by Megumi Fushiguro. Although Megumi initially held off on calling Mahoraga due to its sheer incomprehensible power, he eventually had no choice but to send for the shikigami using the menacing Ten Shadows Technique that few are even able to wield. The hulking shikigami even caught the attention of Cursed Spirit Sukuna, who decided to use it in his devious plans by controlling Megumi.
Mahoraga is relentless in combat, with incredible power, strength, and speed. Only the most powerful sorcerer, Gojo, and the King of Curses, Sukuna, came anywhere close to holding back the remarkable shikigami. The creature eventually suffered its demise at the hands of Sukuna, but not before unleashing tremendous power that would make sorcerers and demons alike cower in true fear.
