- Magic Leap and Google have new hardware to show off
- The prototype smart specs are similar to the Ray-Ban Meta glasses
- There’s no word yet about a potential launch date
Apple‘s teams will be hard at work on the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max now that the iPhone 17 handsets are out, and a new leak suggests three new colors are under consideration for the high-end iPhones next year.
The leak comes from well-known tipster Instant Digital (via MacRumors), and claims that coffee, purple, and burgundy are the shades in contention – though those names come via Google Translate, and may not be the final ones.
We have seen a purple-ish iPhone before, most recently with the iPhone 14, but the other two – a coffee brown and a dark red burgundy – seem to be new picks for Apple. We don’t get any indication of what these colors will actually look like though.
The tipster goes on to say that there again won’t be a standard black iPhone 18 Pro or iPhone 18 Pro Max, the same as this year. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are available in Silver, Cosmic Orange, and Deep Blue.
Coming next year
We haven’t seen an abundance of iPhone 18 leaks and rumors so far, but that’s to be expected considering the 2025 flagship iPhones were only unveiled in September. It seems likely we’ll get the same four models in 2026, plus the iPhone 17e.
There has been talk that Apple will shake up its launch schedule next year, so we may see the base iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2 arrive in March time, and then the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models making an appearance in September.
The goal, of course, would be to shift more iPhones, and having these launches spread out across the year might tempt more buyers into upgrading. According to unofficial sales data, the standard iPhone 17 is the best-selling of the four models launched in September.
Nothing will happen for a few months at least, and we can expect a few more rumors and leaks to show up across that time – such as the one that says all four of the flagship 2026 iPhones are going to have the same amount of RAM.
