Alongside the upcoming next season of the adaptation of Reacher, Lee Child’s acclaimed novel series, starring Alan Ritchson, Prime Video has recently added the most famous action franchise to their repertoire with the acquisition of the rights of James Bond for an eye-watering $1 billion. In an effort to make a big statement with the first movie of their Bond era, Prime has added the talents of Dune director Denis Villeneuve and Peaky Blinderswriter Steven Knight to the 26th Bond movie.
Many years before acquiring 007 and scoring big with Reacher, Prime Video had already nailed the action thriller formula with another adaptation. Jack Ryan, the Tom Clancy-inspired action series starring John Krasinski, first debuted in 2018 to great acclaim, with critics calling it a “satisfying addition to the genre” and praising the show’s “exceptional action sequences.” With the standard set, the show continued to make impressive strides for the next five years, even if the COVID-19 pandemic caused serious delays to production.
Three years later, and backed by huge fan demand, Jack Ryan is about to make his Prime Video return in an exciting feature project co-written by and starring Krasinski. On May 20, Jack Ryan: Ghost War makes its big splash on the streamer, with director Andrew Bernstein hoping to capture the same tense magic beloved in the five-year series. Krasinski is joined by an eye-catching cast in Ghost War, including Wendell Pierce (Superman), Sienna Miller(American Sniper), and Michael Kelly (Lioness). Ahead of the movie’s release, Jack Ryan has returned to the streaming charts, ranking as one of the ten most-streamed shows on Prime Video in the U.S., at the time of writing.

It’s a great time to be a Krasinski fan. Not only are you about to get the return of his fan-favorite action character, but the multi-talented star ofThe Office is back in production with his iconic modern horror franchise. The third installment of A Quiet Place, which is scheduled for release on July 30, 2027, is officially back in production, with director Krasinski posting a first-look image to his social media earlier this week. Krasinski is staying behind the camera for this threequel, but Emily Blunt and Jason Clarke are both returning.
