Southern Company CEO expects more industry commitments for lightwater nuclear reactors in U.S. before 2030 By Reuters

(Reuters) – Southern Company (NYSE:) CEO Chris Womack expects more industry commitments to build large lightwater nuclear reactors in the United States before 2030, the executive said at a nuclear power conference on Monday.

“The announcements will be before the end of this decade,” Womack said at the American Nuclear Society conference in Las Vegas.
