Lego has launched sets based on the Millennium Falcon, the DeLorean, and the Hogwarts Castle – and while all of these pop culture icons crossed my path during childhood, I’ve never been tempted to invest in a brick-based equivalent. I think I’m dangerously close to falling foul of the nostalgia bait this time, though, as this Lego Game Boy has my name all over it – especially at such a tempting price of £49.99 on Amazon.
The Lego Game Boy isn’t even a part of the retailer’s latest Prime Big Deal Days sale, but by using the promo code ‘FD22271A’, you can save £5 off the full price. A small saving, sure, but an entirely welcome one that brings the already reasonably affordable set to an even more wallet-friendly price.

I’m sure the true Lego-heads will have scathing remarks to say about the cost per brick of this 421-piece set, but just look at it. It’s a charming 1:1 representation of the original Game Boy that I spent countless hours playing in my younger days.
It even includes two Game Paks for Super Mario Land and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, and a customisable screen for a sharp hit of nostalgia straight to the brain.
I know I’m a sucker for falling for this, especially when I have an actual Game Boy Advance SP and a copy of Link’s Awakening DX I can actually play, but it’s clearly a cool little item. One that I – and many retro gaming fans – would surely love to own.
