Beats’ classy Bluetooth speaker has dropped to just $99 and for that money, it’s a tasty little Pill to swallow

So many albums about pills, no? There’s Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill, Neil Young and Crazy Horse’s Psychedelic Pill, Maroon 5’s Red Pill Blues, and Cage the Elephant’s Neon Pill – oh, and let’s not forget P!nk’s 2001 banger, Just Like a Pill.

But thanks to this tasty little Amazon pre-Black Friday deal, Beats’ capsule-shaped Bluetooth speaker is currently a very easy Pill to swallow – and it will bring you musical satisfaction for years to come.

That means you can get it for well over 33% off – or $50 that gets to stay in your wallet for something else ahead of the upcoming deals bonanza. As with all deals, I can’t tell you how long it’ll last, but it is available on all colorways – even my favorite ‘Champagne Gold’ finish – which I like to call ‘Champagne Supernova’, after another great song from my youth…

Beats Pill review (published soon after its release in 2024, because yes, this is the newest version of the Beats’ iconic Pill lineup) I praised this classy little model for its detailed, layered audio – especially in USB-C mode.

The imposing bass output is also a big plus, as well as the expansive soundstage (for such a portable baguette-like speaker, you understand) and solid dynamics.

But there’s more. Its 24-hour battery life and IP67 dust- and waterproof rating also beat several rivals at this new price-tag, and its onboard mic means it’ll even work as a speakerphone when you’re at your desk, which is a perk few Bluetooth speakers offer these days.

Honestly, I already felt that the Beats Pill represented good value-for-money at the point of release, so grabbing it for 33% off (and long before the madness of Black Friday) is a very sensible option, I think.

Any drawbacks? Well, daisy-chaining is limited to two Pills rather than a plethora (but you can create a great-sounding stereo pair for your desk, for this money) and there’s no adjustable EQ. Also, while I like the chic, minimal button design, it’s a solution that occasionally struggles under the weight of multiple jobs. But this is nitpicking, isn’t it? It’s still a solid deal on an iconic little design that’ll sound much better than most things you can buy for the price.
