“Dolby Atmos doesn’t have to be pricey”, we said in our 4.5-star Hisense AX5125H soundbar review. And now it’s even less pricey thanks to a great soundbar deal that drops the price from a very reasonable £249 to an even better £199, saving you £50.
This deal, from Currys, is also available at Amazon – and this is as cheap as this soundbar has ever been. But if you want this soundbar you’d better move fast: it’s been discontinued, and US retailers are already out of stock, so what’s left in the UK won’t last long.

Why you should snap up this Hisense soundbar
If you want the tl;dr version: it’s very good and you should buy it.
This soundbar system comes with a very simple proposition: great surround sound, low price, no unnecessary bells and whistles. And that makes it one of the best soundbars you can buy, especially if you want a proper surround system but don’t want to splash too much cash.
In our Hisense AX5125H review, we explained that its nine-driver, four-box setup (one soundbar, one subwoofer and two satellite speakers) “provides a ‘real’ surround sound experience with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X compatibility out of the box, as opposed to requiring optional speakers at an additional cost.”
Hisense hasn’t cut corners when it comes to sound quality. “The AX5125H’s sound is impressive, providing plenty of punch, clarity and immersion. Dolby Atmos and surround effects are accurately reproduced, speech is crystal clear and bass is weighty yet controlled.”
Downsides? There aren’t any important ones. You can’t stream music over Wi-Fi (but you can do it over Bluetooth). The remote control isn’t very fancy. And there isn’t an app with infinite tinkering possibilities. And that’s pretty much it.
If you’re looking for a soundbar that can legitimately compete with the likes of Sonos and Sony but without the price tag of those rivals, take a look at this Hisense. It’s cheap, and it’ll make you cheerful.
