Netflix is home to plenty of horror TV shows, but I’ve picked what I think is the three best to recommend watching this Halloween.
I’ve seen so many shows on one of the best streaming services and after some deliberation, I’ve narrowed it down to give you some variety. The shows below are all different and will surprise you, so you’re in for an excellent binge watch this weekend.
Cabinet of Curiosities

Episode length: 46-63 minute episodes
Seasons: 1
Creator: Guillermo del Toro
Main cast: F. Murray Abraham, Rupert Grint, Crispin Glover, Sebastian Roché, Ben Barnes
You can’t beat a good anthology series, especially when Guillermo del Toro is at the helm. If you’re excited for his new movie Frankenstein to come to Netflix, this series is a perfect watch while you wait.
I gave the movie five stars in my Frankenstein review and I feel the same about Cabinet of Curiosities. This series of short films tackles all sorts of spooky topics from a grave robbing to a tale about a popular skincare lotion with disturbing results. There’s something for everyone here.
The Haunting of Hill House

Episode length: 40-70 minute episodes
Seasons: 1
Creator: Mike Flanagan
Main cast: Carla Gugino, Henry Thomas, Elizabeth Reaser, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Kate Siegel, Victoria Pedretti
There are so many great Mike Flanagan shows on Netflix, but for me, The Haunting of Hill House is still the best one. If you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend it.
Based on the novel, the series follows five adult siblings whose paranormal experiences at Hill House continue to haunt them in the present day. In disturbing scenes, they’re all forced to confront how their time in the house has affected each of them.
It’s one of the scariest and emotional shows out there, it’ll have you hooked this Halloween.
Dandadan

Episode length: 24 minute episodes
Seasons: 2
Creators: Yukinobu Tatsu (manga) and Fūga Yamashiro (anime)
Main cast: Shion Wakayama, Natsuki Hanae, Mayumi Tanaka, Nana Mizuki
Dandadan has been a huge hit with audiences and critics, and it’s streaming on Netflix globally so you can find out why.
Here, we follow two teenagers with supernatural powers who fight supernatural entities and aliens with help from multiple allies along the way. It’s a supernatural thriller with plenty of shocking moments
TechRadar’s Hamish Hector called it “full of heart, but utterly weird” in his recommendation article.
