The Garmin Epix Pro (Gen 2) is my marathon companion of choice, and it’s 50% off in the early Black Friday sales

I’m a big fan of Garmin watches. I’ve reviewed pretty much every modern Garmin watch, and I’ve tested them on trails, campsites, casual runs, in gyms, and during race events like marathons. The Garmin Epix Pro (Gen 2) was my top choice when I ran the London Marathon in 2024, and the early Black Friday deals are slashing prices on it in the US and UK alike.

In the US, Amazon is offering the Garmin Epix Pro (Gen 2) a 50% discount in its smallest 42mm size, reducing it from $899 to just $449 on Amazon. The Sapphire Edition 42mm version, which offers improved scratch-resistant Sapphire glass, is reduced by 45%, from $999 to $549 on Amazon.

The larger 47mm and 51mm sizes also offer a 45% discount: the 47mm version has been reduced from $999 to $549, while the 51mm version has been reduced from $1,099 to $607.

In the UK, outdoor retailer Blacks is offering a huge 54% discount – yep, a better-than-half-price – on the Garmin Epix Pro Sapphire Edition in its 47mm size, reducing it from £870 to just £399. Note other sizes aren’t available, so if you have slim wrists and you’re after the 42mm, we’re afraid you’re out of luck

The Garmin Epix Pro (Gen 2) is probably the best Garmin watch for deals available right now. With up-to-date parts such as the Elevate V5 heart rate monitor (highly accurate compared to a chest-mounted heart rate monitor) and GPS (highly accurate compared to an Apple Watch Ultra 2), at this price it’s one of the best Garmin watches you can buy.

In my Garmin Epix Pro (Gen 2) review, I called it “an undoubtedly high-performing endurance watch that operates wonderfully, and the new widgets that debuted with the Pro work very well and got me thinking about my training in new ways.” Two years on, my statement stands, and at this price, I’d buy it over this year’s Garmin Fenix 8.
