NYT Strands today (game #627) – the answers
The answers to today’s Strands, game #627, are…
- RUMOR
- GOSSIP
- REPORT
- HEARSAY
- SPANGRAM: SPREADTHEWORD
- My rating: Hard
- My score: 1 hint
The theme left little doubt of what we were looking for, but after getting RUMOR and GOSSIP fairly quickly I hit a wall, so took a hint.
My hint word, REPORT, opened up HEARSAY and immediately I saw the words “spread” and “word”, although it took me until the end of the game to join them together with “the” to make up the spangram.
Getting the last word was quite the joy. What a great word SCUTTLEBUTT is – worth doing this search to find that alone – and definitely one that should return to common parlance. All this sassy talk of spilling tea and dishing the dirt, that’s all just scuttlebutt.
Yesterday’s NYT Strands answers (Wednesday, November 19, game #626)
- IMAM
- RABBI
- PROPHET
- BUDDHA
- MONK
- PRIEST
- SPANGRAM: RELIGIOUSFIGURES
