Apple Silicon performance, you know it’s top-tier. These latest MacBooks with M5 chips are so efficient they don’t even need fans to keep cool – no more jet engines whirring to life when you power on.

Our resident MacBook expert and Managing Editor, Core Tech, Matt Hanson awarded the 14-inch MacBook Pro (M5, 2025) 4 out of 5 stars in his review. He praised the excellent battery life and speedy performance, and he named the Liquid Retina display “one of the best screens you can find in a laptop.” Though he did note the lack of Wi-Fi 7 and design differences over last year’s model.

As long as you’re alright with those minor downsides, this laptop is very easy to recommend for fans of MacOS who haven’t upgraded in a few years.
