When I reviewed Shark‘s Cryoglow LED face mask, I really didn’t expect it to have much of an impact. I was quite skeptical of LED face masks in general, but having tried it I must say, I’m impressed. It might not have solved all of my skincare issues (primarily acne and scarring), but it certainly helped, and so here I am to pass on the word.

Right now, the Shark Cryoglow is on offer for £249.99 at Amazon (was £299.99), a neat £50 saving that can help soften the blow before the glow-up. Plus, since getting my Cryoglow, I’ve needed fewer skin treatments and products overall, so over time you too may find it pays for itself.

There are plenty more beauty deals available, especially in Boots’ Black Friday sale, but this is the deal I’d personally recommend going for this year if you’re a skincare girlie (or you need a Christmas gift for one).

I always have to really hammer home, however, that this is not a silver bullet. Don’t believe Hollywood; those don’t exist. In reality, your skin is delicate and sensitive, and there are lots of different factors that go into skin appearance and health – and I’ve personally been disappointed by expensive equipment enough times to feel a sense of responsibility when recommending products.

That being said, the Shark Cryoglow did have an effect. After a few weeks of use, I started to notice some pore shrinkage and reduced acne, though I’m sure this was helped by moisturizing more regularly, as recommended by Shark to combat the dryness caused by the mask’s airflow fans.

I’m still using it to this day, and having tried cheaper masks I can vouch for this one being worth the extra money. It genuinely has helped to boost my self-confidence; for the first time since before my hormonal acne kicked in, in my teenage years, I’m less self-conscious about people noticing my redness and pimples in public now that they’re less noticeable.
