Warning: spoilers for Robin Hood episode 6 ahead.
If you’ve been following my Robin Hood coverage since the MGM+ show started, you’ll know I’ve made no secret of the detail that bothers me the most: its intimacy scenes.
Robin Hood intimate scenes were ‘carefully done’ says star
“I think with all of our intimate scenes, we just wanted to tell the story and romanticize it rather than it just being about the physical aspect of it,” McQueen tells me. “All about the emotion, rather than what’s going on on screen. We really spoke about how to do that carefully with our amazing intimacy coordinator as well as the director in episode six, so it was all done really carefully and with the right intention.”
“As soon as I met Lauren, I knew I could totally be mates with this person,” Patten adds. “That’s how it was from the start, because I was cast first, and then we did the chemistry read, and I heard it was Lauren.
“We became fast friends, and so that helped a lot with communicating what we thought about the roles and the connection between the two characters. We just saw eye to eye immediately. I wasn’t surprised, because in the chemistry read, it was like we didn’t even need to really talk about it. We sort of knew these people. We knew this version of Robin Hood. It was streamlined so quickly.”
