If the rumors are anything to go by, we can expect the first Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event of the year on February 25.
It’s here that we’d place an almighty bet on seeing the much-rumored Samsung Galaxy S26 series get a big showcase, potentially alongside a mention of the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold, which goes up for sale in the US for $2,899 on January 30.
However, beyond the aforementioned folding phone, it looks like this Unpacked could be a rather iterative one for the Galaxy S-series, with the upgrades touted by tipsters not exactly set to revolutionize flagship phones. More likely, we’ll see many more improvements on the software and AI sides, so Samsung can still claim prime spots on our best phones list.
With this in mind, I want to ask the simple question of whether you’re hyped for the Samsung Galaxy S26 series, or if you think it’s unlikely to move the needle for Android smartphones.
Below, I’ve included some select links to articles so you can get up to speed on what we reckon we know about the Galaxy S26. And then go vote in the poll to let me know if you’re excited for the phones.
From my perspective, I can’t say I’ve been particularly enthralled by the Galaxy S26 rumors so far.
Sure, Samsung makes great phones, and its new flagships are sure to be better than ever, but I feel the innovation that once defined the S-series has gone a little, replaced by safe, reliable phones for people on two- or three-year upgrade cycles.
Still, I’m hoping for some interesting software features and new Galaxy AI capabilities that, if nothing else, are fun to play around with and help me get tedious tasks done more quickly.
Of course, I could be wrong, and in a few weeks’ time, Samsung could surprise us all. As ever, time will tell.
