Super Bowl LX is coming fast – it’s on Feb 8th, which means you still have time to get that giant new TV you’ve been dreaming of.
People are buying bigger and bigger TVs, with a new survey saying that half of TV buyers want at least 65 inches, and a growing number of people going for 75, 85 or even 98-inch TVs.
You tell it how far away your sitting position is from the point where the TV will go, and we’ll tell you the ‘correct’ size based on the consensus of advice for the average person. This is based on calculating viewing angles – ie, how much of your vision the screen will take up.
However, this advice has wiggle room in it. For example, you might be like me, and you want the screen to fill up more of your vision than the standard advice, the home theater effect. You can say that in the tool! Or maybe you actually would prefer the opposite, and your screen should be smaller than average – you can choose that too. Or just stick with the standard recommendation, it’s up to you.
