A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms episode 4 will drop on HBO Max earlier than expected — and it’s all thanks to Super Bowl LX

    • A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms episode 4 will air earlier than expected
    • The Game of Thrones prequel’s next chapter was supposed to arrive on February 8
    • It’ll be released ahead of schedule due to this year’s Super Bowl

Send a raven to your fellow Game of Thrones fans, people, because A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms‘ (AKotSK) next episode will air earlier than anticipated.

Announced immediately after A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms episode 3 had dropped on HBO Max and various other streamers, HBO confirmed fans won’t have to wait long for the show’s fourth episode. Indeed, in a press blast, HBO revealed AKotSK episode 4, titled ‘Seven’, will be released at 12:01am PT / 3:01am on Friday, February 6.

Why the sudden schedule change? This year’s Super Bowl takes place this Sunday (February 8) at 3:30pm PT / 6:30pm ET, and is expected to last between three and four hours. It’s a smart move on HBO’s part, then, to move up AKotSK episode 4’s launch date on HBO Max so it can get out of the way of one of the world’s biggest and most-watched sporting events.

Interestingly, ‘Seven’ will still premiere on HBO itself in its usual 7pm PT / 10pm ET slot on Sunday, February 8. So, those of you who won’t be watching Super Bowl LX and want to catch AKotSK‘s next chapter on the linear US TV network can do so at the usual time.
