- LEGO has revealed the 691-piece X-1 Ninja Charger 15th Anniversary set
- The 2-in-1 build hides a deployable motorcycle inside the main vehicle
- It launches August 1 for $89.99
Lego has already had a busy 2026 – from unveiling Smart Play to rolling out multiple Star Wars sets themed to the Mandalorian and Grogu – but now it’s turning its attention to one of its longest-running original themes as Toy Fair 2026 kicks off in New York City.
TechRadar can exclusively reveal the Lego Ninjago X-1 Ninja Charger 15th Anniversary set, a 2-in-1 remake celebrating 15 years of the long-running theme. The 691-piece build arrives August 1, 2026, for $89.99 / UK / AUS, and is a nostalgic build with some awesome play elements.
First launched in 2011, Ninjago has become one of Lego’s most enduring themes, spanning more than a decade of TV seasons and setting waves. The set doesn’t just recreate an iconic vehicle, but like the original, it hides one. Once built, you’ll be able to open the hood and see a motorcycle underneath that can actually shoot out from the vehicle.
At $89.99 with a 14+ age suggestion, the X-1 Ninja Charger lands squarely in LEGO’s older-builder territory: detailed enough to display, but still centered around a kinetic play feature that feels true to the theme’s roots.
Lego is also including three minifigures, led by an exclusive 15th anniversary Elemental Master of Shadow – notably the final collectible minifigure in the anniversary lineup. For collectors tracking down each commemorative character, this is the only place to find it.
The X-1 Ninja Charger revisits the original 70727 version that dropped in 2014, and keeps the signature “vehicle-within-a-vehicle” concept.
Between Smart Play’s push into interactive play and a strong run of licensed releases this year, Lego’s 2026 lineup has leaned heavily into both innovation and nostalgia. The X-1 Ninja Charger combines the two – honoring 15 years of Ninjago while updating a classic design for today’s builders.
