Jessica Lange Returns To ‘American Horror Story’ As Season 13 Begins Filming

Jessica Lange is set to return to American Horror Story Season 13 as the FX anthology series starts filming the long-awaited season.

AHS13 will be Lange’s return to the franchise since Apocalypse (Season 8) in 2018, when she reprised her Murder House (Season 1) role of Constance Langdon in two episodes.

Photos of Lange on the set of the horror series marked her return. In the pictures, Lange is looking out a window, wearing a blue dress and heels.

Lange’s comeback to the Ryan Murphy production had been questioned after the actress had seemingly turned down any future appearances.

While attending the Glasgow Film Festival in early 2025, Lange was asked if she would be returning to the horror series, to which she said, “Oh Christ, no. I mean, I haven’t done it for more than 10 years, 12 years, so, no, I’m not doing it.”

Lange has a long history with the American Horror Story franchise. After making her debut in the inaugural season, she returned for Asylum (Season 2) as Sister Jude Martin. In 2013, she played Fiona Goode in American Horror Story: Coven (Season 3), and in 2014, she played Elsa Mars in American Horror Story: Freak Show (Season 4).

Aside from the horror series, Lange also worked with Murphy on Feud: Bette and Joan in 2017, where she starred as Joan Crawford and received a producer credit. In 2019, Lange played the role of Dusty in Murphy’s The Politician.

Most recently, Lange appeared in Murphy’s Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, playing Lillie Mae Faulk. Lange also received a co-producer credit in the anthology series.

The cast of AHS13 also includes Ariana Grande, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, and Leslie Grossman.
