The Michigan Wolverines are the 2026 NCAA national men’s basketball champions after a hard-fought 69-63 win over the University of Connecticut Huskies Monday night in the March Madness final.

The Wolverines finished the college regular season with a 19-1 record and won the Big Ten Tournament before entering March Madness as the No. 3 seed in the Midwest Region. Michigan took down the top-ranked Arizona Wildcats in the Final Four to set up a dance with UConn.
This was Michigan’s second NCAA basketball championship win following the school’s first title in 1989. The Wolverines have also been runners-up six times in program history, with their last National Championship game appearance coming in 2018.
