Final Fantasy 7 Officially Returns In New DLC

[

Final Fantasy 7 is making an unexpected comeback this month with new DLC – for a completely different game, that is. The 1997 RPG, which often ranks among the best in the series, if not the greatest of all time, still has a significant fan base due to the many pieces of spinoff media released in the last almost-30 years, including the first two parts of the remake trilogy.

But while we all anxiously await part three of FF7‘s remake trilogy, you can relive a little bit of its story by picking up some new swag in Final Fantasy XIV. The MMO has two new FF7-themed cosmetics available in its online store to commemorate its 2026 US Fan Festival, and they’re all on sale for a limited time (via Siliconera).

There are two pieces of cosmetic DLC available for FF14 to commemorate Fan Festival, the first being a mount designed after Cloud’s Hardy-Daytona motorcycle, which he rides during the Midgar escape sequence mini-game.

Like other mounts, once the Hardy-Daytona is added to your account, you can summon it at will and ride it around the map, even taking flight in areas where you’ve unlocked the ability. It’ll cost you $26.99 during the sale, after which it’ll go back up to $29.99.

There’s also a Red XIII minion which, unlike the mount, has no gameplay function. If you equip it, it’ll follow you around like a purely cosmetic pet. Depicting a more diminutive, cartoonishly proportioned version of everyone’s favorite dog companion, it’s going for $6.29 during the sale, $6.99 ordinarily.

A handful of other items are also on sale during Fan Festival: the runway walk emote, Aunt Til’s Neotunic (AKA T-shirt) set, a Tonberry costume, a handful of Orchestrion rolls, and some Easter-themed items, including a personal favorite of mine: the /eategg emote. You can pick all these and more up on FF14‘s online store, with sale prices available until maintenance begins for patch 7.5 on April 28.

Final Fantasy 14’s Latest Event Is Underway

Tickets are currently sold out for FF14‘s 2026 US Fan Festival, which takes place on April 24 and 25 at the Anaheim Convention Center in California. Fans will experience meet and greets with the devs and performers, live music by Keiko, The Primals, Amanda Achen, and Jason Charles Miller, an art contest, and more.

If you’re not attending in person, you can watch along via Fan Festival’s livestreams, or just get in the festive mood with some new cosmetics. They may not do much to ease the wait for the final part of Final Fantasy 7‘s remake, but at least you’ll look cool wearing them.
