GTA 6 PC Release Date Leak Confirms We’re In For A Wait

There are just a few months to go until the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI and, put simply, it has been a long time coming. Originally expected to launch in Fall 2025 before being delayed until 26 May 2026, the highly anticipated title was delayed for a third time to 19 November 2026. However, with the homestretch now upon us, we are close to the first Grand Theft Auto entry in 13 years, and the hype is starting to build. That being said, with Grand Theft Auto VI expected to launch on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles, PC gamers are eager to hear when they can expect to gain access, and a recent report may just have the answers.

GTA 6 Is Coming To PC Early Next Year, Apparently

When Grand Theft Auto V launched back in September 2013, its PC version was not released until April 2015, giving PC gamers quite the wait. With Rockstar wanting to ensure better performance, optimization, and polish, it made sense for there to be a delay. However, it seems as though the PC port for Grand Theft Auto VI will arrive a lot sooner than we had first hoped.

According to DetectiveSeeds over on Twitter, after reaching out to 90 former Rockstar employees via LinkedIn about the potential release date for Grand Theft Auto VI on PC, three got back to them. If they are to be believed, GTA VI will launch on PC in February 2027. However, “this timeline could shift, but Take-Two and Rockstar wanted to get the game out before the end of fiscal year.”

As always, it is worth taking this news with a pinch of salt as we are purely taking DetectiveSeeds’ word for it. However, if true, the PC port for GTA VI is launching a lot sooner than we had all thought, a mere three months after its console release. If you ask me, this sounds a bit soon, especially as it will convince a lot of players to wait for the PC version rather than have to potentially splash the cash on a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S.

PC Gamers May Want To Get A Console For GTA 6

With many gamers still holding on to their old-gen consoles, it makes sense that the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI will finally convince them to take the next-gen leap. However, with the price of hardware increasing monumentally in recent years, this will be a big investment for many. That being said, Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to be the biggest game launch of all time, and FOMO is bound to see those sales skyrocket in the weeks after its launch. Although, if Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to launch its PC port as early as February 2027, maybe it will be worth waiting after all.
