Cyberpunk 2077 Is Getting A Brand-New Ending

[

If there is one thing that all Cyberpunk 2077 fans know, it is that there are no happy endings in Night City. In a world where the corrupting power of corporations runs deep, and the metropolis that rests at the feet of skyscrapers creates a dog-eat-dog environment, it is no wonder that there is only one way to escape Night City, and that is in a bodybag. However, one upcoming release is about to turn Cyberpunk 2077′s various endings on its head, by finally offering a happy ending to the beloved CD Projekt RED RPG.

Cyberpunk 2077 Is Getting A New Ending Thanks To Fans

Courtesy of beloved Cyberpunk 2077 modder Deceptious, a brand-new mod is currently in development and aims to give players the chance to explore a whole new avenue during the game’s closing events. Titled ‘Happy Tower’, the mod has been in development for the last couple of months, and now, in a recent update video, we can see just how far it has come, with Deceptious claiming that all the “polishing and detail” is complete.

In the video, we can see V talking to both Reed and Judy at the hospital. V thanks Reed, and then gets up from a wheelchair to hug Judy, and the animations are incredibly smooth, making it hard to believe that this is not an official scene from the game. The screen fades to black as the two leave the hospital room, with V on her way to meet Viktor. Unlike the official game endings, the Happy Tower ending will allow V to reunite with her loved ones and set off on a journey that will be a lot happier than what they are subjected to in Cyberpunk 2077‘s endings. We are not quite sure when this mod will be released, but it will no doubt go down as one of the best, much like Deceptious’ previous mods over on Nexus Mods.

Cyberpunk 2077 Just Keeps On Giving

It is modders such as Deceptious that are keeping Cyberpunk 2077 alive whilst we wait for CD Projekt RED to work on the highly anticipated sequel. However, with the studio currently focusing on The Witcher 4, it may be a while until we see the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel. Nevertheless, with Cyberpunk 2077 becoming one of the greatest games of all time after its less-than-smooth launch back in 2020, we have all the faith that CD Projekt RED will nail it the second time around, even if details surrounding the sequel remain scarce for now.

With Cyberpunk 2077 celebrating its fifth anniversary back in December, it is clear that its popularity is far from dwindling, and thanks to the community’s dedicated modding scene, we can look forward to every reason to return to the streets of Night City.
