The debate aroundZendaya‘s latest film, The Drama, hasn’t subsided, and her most recent project is already stoking the flames of controversy online. She returned this weekend in the third and potentially final season of HBO’s Euphoria. Zendaya has a major year lined up; following The Drama and Euphoria, she will star in Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Dune: Part Three. When the dust settles, her three movies could gross more than $2 billion in worldwide box office revenue. And despite what critics are saying about the latest season of Euphoria, it’ll likely emerge as one of the biggest shows of 2026.
The new season arrived on Sunday, four years after Season 2. Since then, Zendaya and her fellow cast members — Sydney Sweeney and Jacob Elordi — have emerged as legitimate movie stars as well. Sweeney starred in the massively successful thriller The Housemaid, which grossed nearly $400 million globally some months ago. Elordi, on the other hand, starred in Wuthering Heights, which grossed more than $280 million worldwide earlier this year. He also received an Oscar nomination for his supporting performance in Guillermo del Toro‘s Frankenstein, which debuted on Netflix in 2025.

Here’s What Collider Had to Say About ‘Euphoria’ Season 3
All three returned for Euphoria, which also features Alexa Demie, Barbie Ferreira, Maude Apatow, and Hunter Schafer, among others. Based on the Israeli teen drama of the same name, the HBO remake was created by the controversial Sam Levinson. While the first two seasons of Euphoria were critically acclaimed, the latest season has been compared to Levinson’s disastrous HBO series The Idol, which was unceremoniously canceled after a single season a couple of years ago. In her review, Collider’s Taylor Gates suggested that society as a whole “has outgrown the need for this series.” Euphoria Season 3 holds a 44% score on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes — a huge drop from the “Certified Fresh” 80% and 78% scores of the first two seasons, respectively. The show also aired two standalone specials, which scored 96% and 97% on Rotten Tomatoes. Nevertheless, Euphoria emerged as one of the most-watched shows on the global and domestic HBO Max charts following its debut, challenging holdover hit The Pitt.
