Elevate Production Finance, Privata Capital Launch Indie Film Fund

A new media finance fund backed by Privata Capital will give Elevate Production Finance substantially greater firepower to lend to independent film and television productions worldwide.

Elevate Production Finance CEO Charles Auty said in a statement: “The new fund with Privata Capital allows us to be significantly more agile and flexible than traditional banking institutions. We know that in today’s climate more versatile capital is exactly what independent producers need because we’ve been in their shoes. This fund isn’t just about more capital, it’s about providing the right kind of capital. We are here to support projects of all sizes, from boutique indie films to large-scale international co-productions.”

Privata Capital, led by managing director Victor Siciliano, will focus on Australian productions under the arrangement. Auty is U.K.-based, and EPF maintains offices in both London and Melbourne. Craig McMahon, CEO of Forte Corp Holdings, holds the role of executive chair.

EPF was established in 2017 and has extended loans totalling more than AUD$346 million ($248.8 million) to date, generating upward of AUD$600 million ($431.4 million) in production spending. Among the titles in its slate are Ron Howard’s “Eden,” which stars Jude Law, Vanessa Kirby, Ana de Armas, Sydney Sweeney and Daniel Brühl; George Miller’s “Three Thousand Years of Longing,” with Idris Elba and Tilda Swinton; and “Blacklight,” the action thriller featuring Liam Neeson.

Other credits include “Mix Tape,” starring Teresa Palmer and Jim Sturgess; the Australian box office title “Never Too Late,” with Jackie Weaver and James Cromwell; Eva Longoria’s “At Last, War of the Worlds”; and sci-fi feature “2067.” On the television side, the company has financed “Five Bedrooms” Series 3, “Barrumbi Kids” and “Savage River.”
