Roku Tops 100 Million Streaming Households

[

Roku no longer regularly releases figures for its installed base. But now it’s touting a new milestone: The company says it has surpassed 100 million streaming households worldwide.

The number includes households that watch TV using a Roku streaming player, a first-party Roku-made TV, or one of the Roku TV models from hardware partners. Roku defines “streaming households” as the number of distinct user accounts streaming on its platform in a given 30-day period.

“Surpassing 100 million streaming households is a defining moment, not just for Roku, but for the future of television,” Anthony Wood, Roku’s founder and CEO, said in a statement. “We’re helping shape the entertainment landscape by making it easier to discover great content, more affordable to watch it, and more effective for advertisers and partners around the world to connect with audiences.”

According to company estimates, Roku streaming devices are used by more than half of all U.S. broadband households. The company also has seen growth in international markets, including Mexico, Canada, Brazil, the U.K. and Latin America.

In the U.S., Roku accounted for 44% of total streaming hours on connected-TV devices in the fourth quarter of 2025, according to measurement firm Comscore. The next closest competitor was Amazon’s Fire TV (14%) followed by Samsung (12%) and Google (5%).

The Roku platform offers more than 500 free live linear channels in the U.S., as well as thousands of free on-demand titles, and access to every major premium streaming service. The company’s own Roku Channel free ad-supported service is the No. 2 most-watched streaming app on the Roku platform (after YouTube), per Nielsen.
