Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has rarely kept its foot off the gas in unleashing new crises for its newly-matured ninja to conquer. This includes an attack by Code on Konoha turf, the Divine Trees moving on the Land of Wind to grow their numbers, and now, their dangerously unhinged Mamushi unleashing his twisted clone army on Boruto’s home village. All guided by Koji Kashin’s visions of the future through Prescience (or Ten Directions), an uneasy coalition meets the intruder despite his forces multiplying into the thousands without diminishing might. Things weren’t looking good for Naruto’s successor generation.
But there’s been a price paid by Koji’s Prescience in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. The divergent timelines that result from his glimpses into the future create a multiverse of possibilities in the world of Naruto, and while this has resulted, so far, in preventing the loss of Himawari and Eida, it’s tough to say whether it’s safe to rely on in future battles. Now, with the latest preview of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter #33 officially out, fans get a glimpse at the potential chaos unleashed by Koji’s powerful shinjutsu.
Naruto’s World Is in Danger as Boruto’s Timelines Become More Difficult to Control
Ever since its introduction in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter #13, Koji Kashin’s Prescience was made clear to be a double-edged sword. Each new glimpse taken at it results in preventive measures taken to prevent bad futures, so naturally, this has meant new, volatile timelines would emerge. In chapter #33’s preview, Koji looks back on this as the fight with Mamushi’s quadruple-digit horde of Divine Tree clones outlasts Sarada Uchiha, Boruto and Himawari Uzumaki, Kawaki, and even Daemon and Eida. He speaks directly on how it’s been several days, with Koji’s visions being spontaneous and outside his control.
With Sarada’s awakened Mangekyo causing an uncertain amount of damage to her eyes from their sudden overuse, and even Tailed Beast power and Boruto’s strongest fighters unable to stop Mamushi, it hardly seems like an ideal answer to the threat yet. Even worse, Koji realizes another consequence of altering the future, namely in helping Inojin develop his Mind Transmission Formation jutsu, is that Mamushi’s attack began several days earlier than expected, coinciding with Lord Kobu’s investigation. It thus becomes more clear that Koji’s actions in that moment, despite appearing calculated, were out of a panic to restore the plan to working order.
But with Mamushi’s mind now weakened due to uncontrollably large hordes in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, this weakness has yet to be fully addressed. The team is all largely in one place, so Inojin’s new jutsu may not be of help anymore. Perhaps it’s time he joins the battle alongside his Team 10 teammates, with fans possibly in for an exciting surprise.
Another Boruto Character Overhears Koji’s Secret
Part of the concern with Koji’s Prescience is keeping those who know about it to a minimum. So the end of this preview is particularly distressing, as Amado Sanzu, who created Koji as a clone of Jiraiya, overhears Koji’s conversation with Inojin. The Kara defector won’t necessarily use this information for nefarious means, as he has supposedly joined Konoha’s cause, but Koji’s Prescience works best when fewer outside influences can catch onto what futures he foresees, as it means fewer being inclined to act differently.
8 New Boruto Jutsu So Strong, They’re Beyond God Tier
Boruto’s upping the ante in the jutsu department, from space-time to all possible futures.
It’s not perhaps the biggest concern, as Amado is also hardly the worst person to hear it. While it may come as a surprise that Amado’s creation took on possibly the best strategic assets the Naruto world has ever seen thanks to adding Shibai Otsutsuki’s DNA, he’s more of a supporting presence anyway, without direct influence on the main events. It’ll be interesting if he conceals these details from Sumire, who is in the room with Amado during this exchange, but this moment will be laid out more clearly in the full chapter and subsequent releases.
But the more people who are aware of Koji’s futures, however inconsequential, can still pass that information along. Amado’s motives are unclear in light of this new information, but it’s interesting nonetheless to see him becoming more and more present in the Boruto manga once again. But one other thing becomes clear in light of this uncertainty brought about by Koji’s powers.
Naruto’s World Still Has Space for Big-Brain Moves
While the new chapter isn’t out yet, Koji makes things perfectly clear in this preview for Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter #33: the shinobi involved must now put their training and lateral thinking to the test. Mamushi is spread far too thin at this moment, despite having the physical might to completely overwhelm Boruto’s allies. Koji’s Prescience is certainly not useless: he’s prevented untold casualties, with the crew guiding the fight to a safe location, and miraculously, nobody has died. But now they must take the initiative and act decisively, if they want to get the upper hand against Mamushi.
This isn’t just about Mamushi, either. Koji’s plans will undoubtedly figure into future Boruto: Two Blue Vortex arcs, particularly when facing Jura and Hidari next. While they’re certainly more savvy opponents than Mamushi, with Hidari being the most likely next target given the potential to release Sasuke, this is a shonen manga—they’re far from unbeatable. Instead of an endless supply of clones draining their intelligence, Boruto’s last surviving Divine Trees boast the power of the Uchiha Clan and Tailed Beast attacks, among other abilities bestowed by their Ten-Tails heritage.
But finally, there are other villains still yet to factor in. The Divine Trees are public enemy no. 1, but Code, the last inner of Kara, still remains, and his potential remains undefined in the Boruto world. After all, he brought the current Divine Tree threat to its world, and while fans aren’t exactly as excited by him as a character, his story is not yet over. Code seems yet to be accounted for in Koji’s possible futures, and should he make another appearance, possibly bringing about more Divine Trees to replace those fallen so far, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex may still have new, unexpected crises to face in potentially unlimited futures.
