Final Fantasy 7 is among the most highly regarded entries in the franchise, with the official modern remake being a wildly popular overhaul of the original game. It’s also one of the most ambitious remakes in recent memory, with FF7 Remake and FF7 Rebirth soon expected to get a final follow-up sequel to close out the trilogy.
While it’s still unclear exactly when the last entry in the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy will release, fans are keeping their fingers crossed for an official announcement sometime this year. Assuming we do get a 2026 announcement, players may finally get their hands on the final entry as soon as next year.
However, if you’re a hardcore Final Fantasy 7 fan and looking for something to kick your obsession up a notch while you wait for Part 3 of the remake, there’s a brand-new release scheduled to drop this August (via X).
Final Fantasy 7 Returns This August
Final Fantasy Remake and Rebirth have tons of incredible merch out there for fans who are looking to kick their collection to the next level. Square Enix is releasing an official new Tifa Lockhart collectible figurine action-figure that you can pre-order now from Hobby-Genki, set to ship in August of 2026. The action figure retails for roughly $150 (or about ¥22,700), and features Tifa as depicted in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
This soon-to-be-released “high-end collectible” is a flexible action figure with movable body parts and eyes, and will actually be available from several Japanese action figure retailers in addition to Hobby-Genki, such as AmiAmi, Hobby Link Japan, etc. While it’s certainly a somewhat pricey item as far as action figures go, die-hard fans will be keen to order theirs soon as supplies are likely to dwindle.
When Is Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 Coming?
Nothing about Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3‘s release date has been officially confirmed just yet, but in a recent interview with series director Naoki Hamaguchi, he spoke positively about the game’s progress and sent a wave of excitement through the player-base, stating that “production of the third installment itself is progressing very smoothly.”
As such, hype is at an all-time high for Final Fantasy 7 Part 3’s announcement this year, but fans may want to temper their expectations for when they’ll actually have their hands on the game itself. It’s likely there will be a bit of a wait between the project’s official title reveal, launch trailer, etc. and the game’s release itself, so while the hype is understandable, fans will need to be patient for the time being.
