As the Wayans brothers make their return to the big screen this summer with Scary Movie 6, the comedy filmmaking family is plotting their next sequel.
Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans recently teased that a sequel to their 2004 comedy White Chicks “can happen” if Scary Movie 6 does well at the box office when it premieres June 5 in theaters.
“I’ll put it this way; we’re game,” Marlon told Entertainment Tonight. “We want to know if people will come out and laugh. If they wanna come see Scary Movie, then I definitely—”
White Chicks co-star and co-writer Shawn Wayans noted while discussing their return in Scary Movie 6, “If this movie does well, a White Chicks 2 can happen.”
Meanwhile, Scary Movie 6 star Anna Faris revealed that she’s “pitched myself” for a role in the potential White Chicks 2.
“I don’t know, she’s a little too expensive for us,” teased Marlon, as Shawn quipped, “Well, we’ll pay her less.”
In August, Deadline exclusively reported that Faris and Regina Hall are back for Scary Movie 6, with Marlon and Shawn also reprising their roles and penning the script alongside brother Keenen Ivory Wayans. Although the brothers developed the franchise together, they were absent from the last three installments.
As we also reported, the sequel features Damon Wayans Jr., Kim Wayans, Heidi Gardner and returning stars Chris Elliott, Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri and Anthony Anderson.
In addition to a White Chicks sequel, Marlon has also teased a potential followup to their movie Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood (1996).
