Final Fantasy 7 Fans, Mark Your Calendars For May 19

[

First released back in 1997 as the seventh main installment in Square Enix’s Final Fantasy franchise, Final Fantasy VII was the entry that saw the otherwise underrated series break into mainstream media, so it was perhaps no surprise it was the first in a remake trilogy back in 2020 with Final Fantasy VII Remake, followed by Final Fantasy VII Rebirth in 2024. With the third and final entry expected to launch some time in 2027, hype is still very much alive and kicking, but a recent announcement may spell disappointment for some fans.

Unfortunately, due to the collaboration between Square Enix and Powerwash Simulator developer Futurlab coming to an end, the Final Fantasy VII Remake DLC for the beloved simulation game is coming to an end. Arriving back in March 2023, the Midgar Special Pack was a free download for Powerwash Simulator, featuring a mini-campaign with five locations and vehicles from the Final Fantasy VII Remake. However, as of 19 May, the Midgar Special Pack will no longer be available for Powerwash Simulator, with the developers revealing that it would be delisted after this date.

Luckily, if you already own the game, you will be able to download and play the DLC at any time, but after 19 May, it will no longer be accessible on any online stores. As such, if you have previously missed out on the Midgar Special Pack, you have just a few weeks to claim and play it. Additionally, the Tomb Raider DLC for Powerwash Simulator is also being delisted, with players no longer being able to explore and clean Croft Manor from 19 May onward.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 Is Coming… Eventually

Tifa in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

As mentioned, the final installment in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy is expected to launch some time in 2027, although an exact date has not yet been confirmed. However, with both Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth being instant hits, there is no doubt that the final entry will follow suit. That being said, with a recent new look at Cloud diving fans, it remains to be seen if Final Fantasy VII will live up to its original 90s magic. In the meantime, fans can get their powerwashers ready and head to some iconic Final Fantasy locations in Powerwash Simulator, but they had better hurry before this free DLC is gone forever.
