April 21 Is An Unmissable Day For Xbox Game Pass Members

[

Xbox Game Pass members are getting a free game on April 21, and they won’t want to miss out on its arrival. So far, 2026 has been a splendid year for Microsoft’s subscription service. Over the past few months, huge AAA titles like Death Stranding and Cyberpunk 2077 have joined the catalog, along with some major indie hits. One of 2025’s best games joined Game Pass, but a few days ago, too, and it seems like the great new titles aren’t stopping any time soon.

Microsoft announced the first batch of free titles joining the catalog earlier this month via an official post on Xbox Wire, detailing nearly 20 titles. There are some remarkable games, such as Hades 2, DayZ, the long-awaited Replaced, and more. There’s also an upgrade for Oblivion Remastered, which is now playable for many other members of the service. However, there is one new free game that is a day-one release you can’t afford to miss.

Xbox Game Pass Gets A Huge Day-One Release

Vampire Crawlers Arrives For Free In April

Among the Wave 1 additions to Xbox Game Pass in April is Vampire Crawlers. Arriving on April 21, the day-one release on Game Pass is the newest title from the creators of the highly popular Vampire Survivors. As a day-one game, Vampire Crawlers will be made available exclusively for members of the Ultimate and PC Game Pass tiers. The new game can be played on Xbox Series X/S, PC, handheld devices, and via cloud gaming.

If its predecessor can serve as an example, you can rest easy knowing that you’ll have plenty of time to check it out, in case your backlog is full. Following its day-one release on Xbox Game Pass back in 2022, Vampire Survivors has been available on the catalog continuously. It’s still unclear if Vampire Crawlers will follow the same trend and be available for years on end, but it is worth checking out right now, not only to enjoy the benefits of a day-one release on Ultimate, but because the game looks promising.

Vampire Crawlers Is A Promissing New Take On The Series

The New Game Has Deck-Building Mechanics Across Familiar Dungeons

Vampire Crawlers is a spin-off of Vampire Survivors, and you can expect some familiar elements, but there is a big twist to it. This new game is a turn-based roguelite deck-builder. You’ll venture through the dungeons that you’ve seen in Vampire Survivors, but from a different first-person perspective, and face enemies using the cards at your disposal. As a turn-based game, it is possible to take your time and think things through.

However, if you’re a fan of fast-paced action, you can go down that route. The release of Vampire Crawlers is massive and represents a huge step forward for the franchise while still honoring the original title. Its arrival as a day-one release on Xbox Game Pass is huge news for those who are subscribed to the service, so if you qualify, be sure to check it out soon.
