In the gaming community, Final Fantasy is one of those franchises that just seems to be everywhere. And, that’s with good reason, of course. Final Fantasy games have shaped much of the video game world over the years and have made a name for themselves as one of the most recognizable game series out there.
Therefore, it’s no wonder that Cloud and Sephiroth can fight on a Midgar stage in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, or that other references seem to show up even in games like Assassin’s Creed Origins, Forza Horizon 3, and Everybody’s Golf. Especially now, when Final Fantasy 10 is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
Unfortunately, next month, one popular crossover with the world of Midgar from Final Fantasy 7, as well as another from Tomb Raider, is going to be removed from one very popular cozy game.
Free Midgar And Tomb Raider DLCs Leaving PowerWash Simulator
While I, personally, happen to love the actual storyline behind PowerWash Simulator and its sequel, I recognize that most people simply enjoy the peaceful experience of cleaning muck off fun areas. For fans of FF7 or Tomb Raider, that can include cleaning the mighty Scorpion Sentinel or washing down Croft Manor. The little tidbits of side story that are included through text messages while washing everything are often hilarious as well.
Unfortunately, at 3 PM BST on May 19, 2026, both the free Midgar Special Pack and the Tomb Raider Special Pack will be removed from all storefronts for PowerWash Simulator. Anyone who has already claimed and downloaded the packs prior to May 19 will be able to keep them and play the levels as much as they want.
This announcement also coincides with the end of PowerWash Simulator‘s relationship with the development company Square Enix, so it’s unlikely any Tomb Raider or Final Fantasy DLCs will show up in PowerWash Simulator 2.
PowerWash Simulator 2 Just Released A New DLC
Of course, now that PowerWash Simulator 2 is out, many players may have already moved on to the new shiny and aren’t even playing the original game anymore. Particularly as the new Adventure Time DLC for PowerWash Simulator 2 has just been released, giving players the opportunity to clean the Ice King’s Castle and more.
While PowerWash Simulator may not seem like the biggest game out there, it’s certainly one worth trying out. Simply spraying down dirty items, reading a ridiculously wonderful storyline about it, and maybe having an audiobook on in the background can be the best way to spend an evening after a busy day in the real world.
