5 Spider-Heroes Who Could Totally Change Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse With Their Debuts

[

Five iconic Spider-Heroes could completely change Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse with their debuts. The upcoming third entry in Sony Animation’s Spider-Verse trilogy is understandably becoming one of the most hyped superhero films of all time after Across the Spider-Verse‘s cliffhanger ending.

Fans are clamoring to know what lies in store for Miles and his Spider-Verse team as he tries to find a way back to his universe after being sent to Earth-42 by mistake. Coming face-to-face with a version of himself that was never bitten by a radioactive spider, he’s in for his biggest inner-battle yet.

However, what most fans are also eagerly anticipating is what other Spider-Man variants will be making appearances in the upcoming sequel. Across the Spider-Verse featured multiple cameos. Whether they were iconic variants like Ben Reilly from the Clone Saga or deep cuts like Spider-Cat, it was a feast for the eyes for many Spider-Man fans.

Of course, even with the sheer number of jaw-dropping cameos from the comics, games, films, and TV shows, there were several other Spider-Heroes that never made it to the big screen.

The comics consist of an infinite number of Spider-Man variants alone, so it’s impossible for every version of the character to make an appearance. Now, with a new film on the way, it opens the door to many new cameos that could change the game for Beyond the Spider-Verse.

Spiders-Man (Earth-11580)

This take on the webhead has the potential to not just be one of the most unsettling Spider-Man variants. Spiders-Man is a hivemind of spiders that killed Peter Parker when he fell into their pit at a laboratory. They end up developing his consciousness and creating a hivemind. Together, the spiders pile into a Spider-suit and fight crime in New York City.

Spiders-Man has become one of the most infamous Spider-Heroes because of how creepy he is as a concept. However, he could actually play a vital role in the Spider Society. Given the spiders are a hivemind, Spider-Man 2099 could use them as a potential way to search the multiverse for Miles.

Plus, with the disturbing nature of this version of the character, it could feed into the film’s more comedic moments to alleviate the emotional tension that Beyond the Spider-Verse is promised to have.

Silk (Earth-616)

Silk is a character that has become one of the most beloved heroes in the Spider-Verse since she debuted in the comics. Originally bitten by the same spider that bit Peter Parker, Cindy Moon shares many of Peter’s powers. However, she has a stronger version of Peter’s Spider-Sense, and she’s able to spin webs out of her fingertips.

Storywise, Silk plays a major role in the Spider-Verse comics. She’s often considered one of the most crucial Spider-Totems while also playing key roles in various Spider-Verse stories to help Peter and others save the multiverse.

Having Silk make her debut in Beyond the Spider-Verse would be huge for the franchise. This is her moment to show just how important she is to the Spider-Verse, as well as turn her into a household name for movie fans, just like Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen.

Ultimate Spider-Man (2024) (Earth-6160)

This rebooted version of the Ultimate Universe became one of the biggest fan-favorite Spider-Verse runs in years. Set in a universe where Peter Parker is married to Mary Jane with kids, he dons the Spider-Man persona to keep New York safe for them while working for the Daily Bugle.

The biggest detail from this run that caught many comic readers off-guard is the reveal that Uncle Ben is alive in this universe as an investigative reporter for the Bugle. This would be huge for Beyond the Spider-Verse because of how it could change how canon events are perceived.

Rather than treating deviations from the canon as a death sentence for a universe, Ben’s survival could clue Spider-Man 2099 in on some revelations that could allow Miles to save his father. Overlooking this break in the canon would be a serious oversight on the film’s part, especially since it was coming out as the film continued to be delayed for time.

Chasm (Earth-616)

Before Across the Spider-Verse premiered, Ben Reilly had gone through serious changes as he crossed from life as a hero to a villain. He now goes by Chasm, a villainous persona he adopted when he teamed up with the Goblin Queen in the Dark Web storyline.

Ben Reilly has already been established as a character in the Spider-Verse films, played by Andy Samberg as comedic relief. The possibility of having him interact with this other version of himself would be too good to pass up.

Reilly’s role as Chasm is often considered a more villainous version of his Scarlet Spider days, so to see these two going against each other, or even teaming up, would be a phenomenal moment for the fanbase.

Zombie Spider-Man (Earth-2149)

Easily the most tragic Peter Parker variant, this version of Spider-Man is a must-get for Beyond the Spider-Verse. Zombie Spider-Man is a fascinating character because of his inner-conflict as a part of the living dead. He feels non-stop regret for killing Aunt May and Mary Jane, yet he still has an insatiable craving for human flesh.

Dropping this version of the webhead would be incredibly interesting. His inner-battle would be ripe for comedy while also providing some tense moments when Miguel O’Hara undeniably sends the Spider Society after Miles. Earth-42 is already distinguished as dark, so having a zombie version of Spider-Man in the shadows would make for an amazing scary sequence in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse to change things up.
