Exclusive: Piaggio Fast Forward is back with another Star Wars cargo robot — and this time it gets a Grogu makeover

  • Piaggio is back with another limited-edition Star Wars robot
  • The Grogu gitamini is a custom-skinned cargo-carrying robot
  • The $2,875 bot is up for order now ahead of May the 4th and The Mandalorian and Grogu

We’re just six days away from May the 4th — aka Star Wars Day — and only 25 days away from Star Wars returning to the big screen with The Mandalorian and Grogu. So it only makes sense that a trove of brands is launching new products, including plenty of toys, all themed to the iconic universe — and, of course, the new film as well.

Now, nearly a year after Piaggio first introduced a Star Wars-themed cargo-carrying droid, the brand is doing it again. TechRadar can exclusively show off and reveal the Grogu gitamini — a fresh skin, some stickers, and a surprise under the hood that gives this personal companion robot a bounty hunter feel.

Essentially, the gitamini has two main wheels and a full stack of sensors, including two cameras and a color CMOS camera that works with an onboard platform to lock onto the owner — aka you, if you get one — and allows the cargo-carrying robot to follow you around.

The cargo bin measures 17.9 x 16.5 x 18.9 inches and has a 20-pound capacity — good enough for a ton of credits, some Beskar-style goods, or a bag or two from a quick run to a convenience store or local grocer.
