Hayley Law, Ava Capri & Luke Cook Among Cast For Rom-Com ‘Flyover’

EXCLUSIVE: Production is underway in LA and Oklahoma on rom-com Flyover, starring Hayley Law (Riverdale), Ava Capri (Love, Victor), Sara Eklund, and Luke Cook (Hacks).

Convoke Media will be handling sales on the film, which is being directed by Jackie! Zhou from a script by Purple Cactus Productions’ Sara Eklund and Maria Fernanda Prieto.

The story follows a group of women who leave Los Angeles for a so-called “flyover state” to test whether their dating struggles are rooted in geography, or something far more personal.

The project is produced by Killers of the Flower Moon and Joker: Folie A Deux co-producer Justine Conte alongside Adria Baratta and Todd Slater (The Optimist) of Convoke Media.

Zhou, an Emmy-nominated sound designer turned director and a Sundance Scholar and Tribeca alum, previously directed Chappell Roan’s HOT TO GO! music video.

“When I first read Flyover, I was struck by how contemporary and honest it felt,” said Zhou. “These are characters and friendships I recognize deeply from my own life. We’re making a film that’s fun, but also one that reflects how complicated and human relationships are today. I’m excited for audiences to see themselves in it.”
