Tony Award nominee Uzo Aduba and Tony Award winner Darren Criss will announce the nominations for the 79th Annual Tony Awards next Tuesday.
The nominations will be announced live on Tuesday, May 5, from Sofitel New York on the Tony Awards official YouTube page beginning at 9 a.m./ET, with a selection of categories revealed live on CBS Mornings at 8:30 a.m./ET. A complete list of nominees will be available at TonyAwards.com immediately following the announcement.
Aduba most recently appeared on Broadway in 2021’s Clyde’s, with other Broadway credits including Godspell (2011) and Coram Boy (2007). She can most recently be seen in the Shondaland series The Residence on Netflix, which garnered her an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Che can also be seen in Paramount’s Roofman and Lionsgate’s Greedy People and Searchlight’s The Supremes at Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat.
Criss currently stars in the critically acclaimed and Tony Award-winning original Broadway musical Maybe Happy Ending as Oliver, a role that earned him his first Tony Award win for Best Performance by an Actor in a Musical. He also received a Tony Award win for Best Musical as a co-producer.
This year’s Tony Awards ceremony will return to Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Sunday, June 7. Hosted by Pink, the event will broadcast live to both coasts on CBS, streaming on Paramount+, 8-11 p.m. ET/5-8 p.m. PT.
