GTA 6 Official New Teaser Has Hype Levels Reaching Critical Mass

The upcoming release of GTA VI is absolutely going to be one of the biggest video game releases of all time, if not the most lucrative ever. Millions of fans are waiting in the proverbial wings to see what Rockstar has been cooking up, and it should be an experience beyond anything we have seen in the series so far.

The scale of its ambition isn’t really too much in question, with what we have seen in the two trailers so far proving to be more than enough to placate any worries the community might have had. That said, it seems like Rockstar, and those who control the company, have far loftier ambitions for the game, that could see it competing with the biggest media franchises in history.

As first reported by IGN, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick shared the following insight while speaking at the iicon event for executives in video games:

“What we think about is making the most spectacular piece of entertainment on Earth, in history – and it’s a pretty daunting challenge. If we do that, and if we’re of service to our customers, then the upside will take care of itself.”

Now obviously, making the “most spectacular piece of entertainment on Earth, in history” is a fairly lofty goal, but there is a world where he has a point, in terms of the number of hours players will likely be locked into the game and how much there will be to do. Over on Reddit, under a post sharing that insight, fans were delighted at the prospect.

“Every major game they release is their new opus. I’m not at all surprised they feel like this is their new opus. I’m sure it is. I’m ready!” one comment read.

“Sure. But in this case, it will probably be the greatest piece of entertainment to launch in recent history, knowing Rockstar’s caliber,” another added.

“There are some people literally suggesting to keep movie dates outside of the first month of its release window (e.g. Doomsday) because of how people will just be plugged in to this game,” a third said.

Whatever GTA VI does end up being like, the next few months are a key avenue on the road to release. If we can get through the next Take-Two earnings call without another delay, then all should be well for the game to release on its currently scheduled date in November. If not, then I dread to think what the reaction of fans will be like.
