When it comes to DC Comics, one of the most iconic aspects of its most popular heroes and teams is their bases of operation. From the Batcave to the Fortress of Solitude, and even the Watchtower, these headquarters are almost as recognizable as the heroes themselves. Now, one of DC’s most iconic teams is receiving one of the coolest base updates in the history of their comics, marking what appears to be a brand-new era for the team.
DC has recently kicked off Act II of its ALL IN initiative with DC NEXT LEVEL. This new chapter has launched fresh solo titles and introduced new story arcs across several ongoing series. Many of these arcs bring new elements to the table and even shift the tone and direction of established titles. Among the books undergoing a creative overhaul is New Titans, written by Tate Brombal with art by Marcus To. The series was previously titled Titans and was led by writer John Layman and artist Pete Woods.
Those who have been following the title know that the book has already seen a major roster shake-up. Now, thanks to new solicitations, it appears another status quo change is on the horizon. This time, it involves a change of scenery as the Titans prepare to debut a brand-new base of operations: Mount Titans.

As a quick recap, Brombal recently introduced a refreshed Titans roster that includes Jon Kent, former Wonder Girl Yara Flor, Tara “tera” Markov, Stephanie “Spoiler” Brown, Edward “Red Devil” Bloomberg, and DC’s newest hero Eva, whose codename, if she has one, has yet to be revealed.
Currently, the only heroes carried over from Layman’s run into Brombal’s version of the series are Nightwing, Starfire, and Cyborg. At the moment, it remains unclear whether Arsenal, Raven, Beast Boy, and Donna Troy will return to the narrative or whether Nightwing, Starfire, and Cyborg will eventually step away from it. All of these points point to major changes currently unfolding within the Titans’ storyline and team structure.
Now, thanks to DC’s June solicitations, we also have confirmation that the team will soon gain a new headquarters. Layman’s run saw the Titans abandon their iconic Titans Tower and relocate to Titans Tunnels. Now another change is underway, with the team seemingly operating out of a hollowed-out mountain that will serve as their latest base of operations.
DC Is Bringing Back Young Justice’s Iconic MOUNT JUSTICE
New Titans #36 Will Be Available to Read on June 17, 2026
New Titans #33 main cover
This shift is confirmed in the official synopsis for New Titans #36, which states: “WELCOME TO MOUNT TITANS! With their towers all destroyed in the aftermath of DC K.O., the Titans set up shop in a new yet familiar location!” The issue’s main cover also hints at the change in scenery, offering the first glimpse of the mountain headquarters. The artwork depicts a wide staircase leading to a sleek structure built directly into the face of a mountain.
One especially intriguing detail from the synopsis is the phrase “a new yet familiar location.” That wording strongly suggests the new Mount Titans may be connected to, or inspired by, Mount Justice. Longtime fans will remember Mount Justice as a secret superhero headquarters often associated with younger hero teams such as Young Justice.
Although the base has appeared in comics before, it gained widespread recognition through the animated series Young Justice, which helped elevate the relatively obscure location to fan-favorite status in DC lore. If Mount Titans truly turns out to be a repurposed version of Mount Justice, it would represent an exciting revival of a beloved piece of lore within the DC Universe with the Titans leading the charge.

DC’s Absolute Universe is a new line of comics launched in late 2024 that reimagines iconic DC heroes in a world without the legacy advantages they traditionally have. Which DC event/storyline set up the creation of the Absolute Universe?
✓ Correct! The Absolute Universe was born from Darkseid rewriting reality in the current DC continuity. This cosmic act of villainy created a parallel world where DC’s greatest heroes exist without the advantages and support systems they traditionally rely on.
✗ That answer didn’t make it through the Absolute reboot! The answer is Darkseid’s rewriting of the DC Multiverse. While Dark Crisis, Infinite Frontier, and Flashpoint Beyond are all significant DC events, it was Darkseid’s manipulation of reality that gave birth to the Absolute Universe.
02
In Absolute Superman, Kal-El’s origin is dramatically different from the main universe. Instead of being raised by the Kents in Smallville, how does Absolute Superman grow up?
✓ Correct! In the Absolute Universe, Kal-El lands not with the Kents but in an immigrant community, growing up without wealth or privilege. This reimagining strips away Superman’s traditional support system while keeping his core values of hope and justice intact.
✗ That answer didn’t make it through the Absolute reboot! The answer is that he’s raised in an immigrant community with no wealth or privilege. The Absolute line is built on the concept of heroes without their traditional advantages, and Superman’s new upbringing reflects this perfectly.
03
Absolute Batman reimagines Bruce Wayne without his billionaire status. In this version, Bruce Wayne has a very different civilian occupation. What is Absolute Batman’s day job?
✓ Correct! In the Absolute Universe, Bruce Wayne works as an engineer and construction worker. Without the Wayne fortune or Wayne Enterprises, this Bruce builds his gear and gadgets with his own hands and working-class ingenuity, making him a truly self-made Batman.
✗ That answer didn’t make it through the Absolute reboot! The answer is engineer / construction worker. Absolute Batman strips Bruce Wayne of his billionaire status entirely. This Bruce is a massive, imposing figure who uses his engineering skills and physical labor background to craft his own Batman arsenal.
04
Absolute Batman’s costume and physique are dramatically different from the traditional Batman. This version of Bruce Wayne is much larger and more imposing. Who is the writer of Absolute Batman?

The Absolute Universe was created as a result of Darkseid altering reality. A key difference is that in this universe, heroes don’t have the traditional advantages and support systems. What concept describes this — that these heroes exist without their usual “safety nets”?
✓ Correct! “Heroes without legacy” is the core concept of the Absolute Universe. These versions of DC’s iconic characters exist without the inherited advantages, mentors, wealth, and support networks that traditionally define them — forcing them to become heroes purely on their own terms.
✗ That answer didn’t make it through the Absolute reboot! The answer is “Heroes without legacy.” The Absolute Universe is built on the idea that Darkseid stripped these heroes of their legacies — Batman has no fortune, Superman has no Kents, Wonder Woman has no Themyscira as we know it.
07
Absolute Flash reimagines Wally West in the Absolute Universe. In this version, the Flash’s connection to the Speed Force is portrayed differently. Who is the writer of Absolute Flash?
✓ Correct! Jeff Lemire, known for his deeply human storytelling in titles like Sweet Tooth and Animal Man, writes Absolute Flash. His take on Wally West reimagines the speedster’s relationship with the Speed Force in the context of the Absolute Universe’s stripped-down heroic landscape.
✗ That answer didn’t make it through the Absolute reboot! The answer is Jeff Lemire. While Williamson, Waid, and Adams have all written excellent Flash stories in the main continuity, it’s Lemire who brings his unique storytelling vision to Absolute Flash.
