Baldur’s Gate 3: All Dribbles The Clown Body Part Locations

[

One of the biggest quests in Act 3 of Baldur’s Gate 3 is finding all of Dribbles the Clown’s body parts. The hapless jester was brutally murdered and dismembered by an evil doppelgänger, scattering his body parts all across Baldur’s Gate. Your party can volunteer to gather seven body parts to reassemble his corpse and receive a reward from the ringmaster, Lucretious.

While this might sound ludicrous and hyper-violent, it’s fairly par for the course in Baldur’s Gate 3. What sets the Dribbles the Clown quest apart from the rest of the Act 3 material is how challenging it can be to complete. Finding all the parts doesn’t involve the difficult combat challenges of Act 3’s hardest bosses, but they’re scattered so thoroughly that hunting down each and every one can necessitate a little help.

How To Start Dribbles The Clown Quest

Time For A Circus Visit

Baldur's Gate 3 Circus

To begin the Dribbles quest, visit the Circus of the Last Days in Rivington. You’l find this on the left side of Rivington to the south of the Open Hand Temple. To enter through the main gates, you’ll need to employ Persuasion, Deception, Intimidation or a bribe, as a ghoul guarding the gates is suspicious of the mindflayer parasite. Otherwise, the party can skip the main gates and sneak in through various methods.

The dimension-hopping Circus is visiting the Sword Coast, and there are many opportunities for the party to have fun. As Dribbles is in the back corner of the circus, you’ll likely want to engage with some of the other activities before taking on the main attraction. Your group can trick a Djinni out of his jackpot, obtain a love reading for their chosen partner, and even commission a nude statue of themselves for camp. Dealing with the displacer beast situation is also advised before moving on.

Once you get to Dribbles the Clown, you’ll have to participate in a fight, so make sure you’re rested up before interacting with the show. After discovering the gruesome fate of the Circus’ biggest star, speak to the ringmaster, Lucretious. She’ll request your help with gathering Dribbles’ scattered body parts.

Where To Find All Of Dribbles The Clown’s Body Parts

Search The Lower City For Jester Pieces

You’ll need to find a total of seven body parts for the Dribbles the Clown quest, and unfortunately, they’re scattered all over the city. This goes beyond the area of Rivington, so you’ll need to gain access to the Lower City before you can complete the quest in its entirety. There’s no need to prioritize finding the body parts over other objectives, but it’s helpful to take a look at the list in advance so you can grab each part when it’s actually convenient.

The table below includes every body part and a brief description of the location where you’ll find it. Personally, I was able to find a few organically by searching just about every container and body I found, more or less constantly holding down Left Alt to show interactable objects. A few of them are related to other big sidequests in the region, but you’ll have to do some concentrated searching to find all seven.

Torso

Looted from the body of Penela Lumpensicks in the caves underneath the Open Hand Temple in Rivington. The party will discover a hatch to the caves at (X: -63, Y:1) while investigating the Open Hand Temple Murders. You will have to defeat some shapeshifting doppelgängers.

Pelvis

Found on a body in an empty home directly northwest of the Basilisk Gate fast travel point (X:120, Y:-1). You will need to gain access to the Lower City first.

Arm

Found on a body in the basement of the Peartree House, southeast of Sorcerous Sundries (X: 32, Y:-99). The door to the building is boarded up, so you need to destroy it first.

Leg

Found on the body of Incontinentia Figgin in the basement of Lavernica’s Home (X:-77, Y:-72), west of the Lower City Central Wall.

Foot

Found on a body in the basement of Rainforest’s House near the Blushing Mermaid (X:-93, Y:-110). Check behind the stairs for the basement entrance. The basement has several traps, so make sure to disarm them first.

Head

On the body of Wilting Alex in the Temple of Bhaal, in the Undercity Ruins (X: -62, Y:1042)

Hand

On a plate in Popper’s Store in the Circus of the Last Days (X:-91, Y:-55). Popper will charge 10,000 Gold, but players can convince him to hand it over through dialogue or steal it outright.

Most of these locations are fairly easy to find once you’ve entered the Lower City. However, you won’t be able to enter the Temple of Bhaal without completing the Investigate the Murders or Impress the Murder Tribunal main quests. These are rather tough and time-consuming quests, so ensure you’re well-prepared with a powerful set of high-level spells and abilities before entering the Temple.

What To Do With Dribbles The Clown’s Body Parts

Return Dribbles To The Circus

Once you’ve collected all the body parts, bring your gruesome collectibles back to Lucretius at the Circus of the Last Days. She’ll be glad to have her clown back and plans to reanimate him with necromancy, so he can continue to entertain visitors.

She’ll also reward you with the Spellmight Gloves, which let the wearer take a -5 penalty to their spell attack rolls to deal an additional 1d8 damage.

Not every build in Baldur’s Gate 3 will be able to use this ability effectively, so make sure you only equip them to the right party member. This pair of Very Rare Gloves can be sold for a high price if you don’t have anyone suited for using them.

The Spellmight Gloves are also one of many items you can feed to Gale if he remains in your collective party. While you generally should not feed Gale any other Rare items, they can serve as a desperate meal if you’re out of magic items, and you have no other use for them – although you’ve probably satiated Gale’s hunger by now.

Alternatively, if you despise the Circus enough, you could hold on to Dribble’s body parts or kill Lucretius after she’s reanimated him. This NPC is a powerful necromancer who will challenge your party, but taking her down will yield some extra loot.

You can gain the Ringmaster’s Key to help open a special chest and Lucretius’ Hollow Staff, a magic quarterstaff that makes it difficult for enemies to resist magic you cast. In my opinion, though, it’s better to return Dribbles, if only for the bit.

How To Use Spellmight Ability

The Spellmight ability from the Gloves given when you complete the Dribble’s quest trades accuracy for damage when a character casts spells. For example, when a character casts a spell with a ranged or melee spell attack, they gain a -5 penalty to hit an opponent.

If that magic still connects despite the penalty, the spell gains 1d8 of damage, which will always be of the same damage type it normally inflicts. This passive trait will add itself to anything that counts as a spell and uses an attack roll, but not innate magic. In other words, it won’t work with things like Magic Missile.

This ability is excellent for Paladin character builds, who can use Spellmight without having to take the penalty since Smite magic activates only when an enemy is already hit. Use this to deal extra damage with Thunderous Smite or Searing Smite without worrying about missing an attack.

The Spellmight ability is also fantastic for any spellcasters in your party, as they can gain extra damage on spells that ordinarily feel lackluster. While this does add the risk of missing attacks, anyone who has reached Act 3 may have other magic items that can help characters regain some accuracy.

But no matter how you use them, these Gloves are a fine reward for helping to bring the clown back to the circus. Even if not for the material rewards, though, you should find Dribbles’ body parts in Baldur’s Gate 3 just to enjoy another fun aspect of its act three storyline.
