Rory Kinnear, Eleanor Tomlinson & David Thewlis Lead C4’s ‘Wrong Move’

Eve Myles (Gone), Rory Kinnear (The Diplomat), Eleanor Tomlinson (One Day) and David Thewlis (Fargo) have been set to lead Channel 4‘s comic thriller Wrong Move.

The Ben Edwards-created series has also cast David Bradley (Game of Thrones), Austin Haynes (Adolescence), Daisy Morgan (Giant), Gwyneth Keyworth (Death Valley), Ali Khan (Everyone Else Burns), Evia Kaisi, Ray Fearon (Champion), Paul Bazely (Such Brave Girls), Laura Elsworth (Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery) and Alex McQueen (Seven Dials).

Roughcut Television is making the show for Channel 4, and filming is underway in Yorkshire, UK. Edwards (Coma) is the writer and creator, with Roughcut bosses Ash Atalla and Alex Jones the executive producers. Rebecca Davies is the producer and Rene Pannevis the director. Fremantle has international distribution rights.

Wrong Move follows the “complicated lives of the people trying to take the next steps up the property ladder, and the misguided notion that moving house can fix everything.” The plot follows three couples who are tied in a property-buying chain, only for the person at the top to pull out the night before the deals are done, causing chaos for those lower down.

Thewlis will lead the cast playing Trevor, a vengeful and dangerous psychopath detective sergeant who terrorizes a group of homebuyers at the heart of the events. His decision to pull out of the house sales upends an entire property chain, as his manipulative nature unsettles those around him. Bradley will play his father, Arthur.

Kinnear will be Michael, a man whose patience crumbles as a homebuying chain begins to collapse, with Myles playing his wife, who desperately believes buying their ‘forever home’ will have their marriage. Haynes plays their son, and Morgan their daughter. Tomlinson will play Stella, who is preparing for the arrival of her first child with partner Juliette (Keyworth), while navigating the chaos caused by Trevor’s decision.

Channel 4 ordered the show from Stath Lets Flats and Little Disasters maker Roughcut back in February.
