Modern Family’s Ariel Winter Gives Update on Her Life Outside of Hollywood (Exclusive)
Ariel Winter and Luke Benward are stepping into a new chapter solo.
Nearly six years after E! News confirmed that the Modern Family alum and Dumplin’ actor were dating, the couple had broken up, Ariel confirmed May 14.
“He’s still one of my best friends, a great human being and a great pup coparent,” she commented under People‘s May 14 Instagram post, “just because sometimes people aren’t meant to be doesn’t mean you don’t still appreciate the time spent and retain the friendship you shared. Still a big luke fan over here!!!
The confirmation comes more than a year after Ariel shared insight into what made their relationship so strong.
“There are so many things that go into a partnership, but I think what I find so important is a ‘best friendship,'” she told E! News in October 2024. “I feel like, if you have that foundation, you really can weather a lot of storms.”
But the 28-year-old also knew that it took work for any modern love story to thrive.
