Katharine McPhee Says She’s Confused by Chrishell Stause TikTok Callout

Katharine McPhee is so over it. 

The 42-year-old gave her honest response to Chrishell Stause’s harsh remarks about her relationship history. In response to one curious commenter under E! News’ Instagram who wanted to know what Katharine said to spark this exchange, the American Idol alum shared that she was unsure herself. 

She wrote, along with a heart emoji, “honestly I have no idea. I am just as confused about this controversy as you lmao.”

The saga began after the Selling Sunset star, 44, left a comment under a TikTok post recounting the Smash actress’ relationship history—from her first marriage to Nick Cokas, which ended in 2016, to her current marriage to David Foster.

The video had addressed the age gaps between Katharine, 42, and the men she has been romantically involved with, including the 35-year difference between her and David. 

The creator had also pointed out an exchange between the couple that had raised eyebrows. Although it was unclear when the moment took place, a clip of it resurfaced in 2024, in which the composer called his wife “fat” when they first met.
