EXCLUSIVE: Lionsgate has set its television BA leadership in the wake of decorated business executive Sandra Stern stepping down as Vice Chairman of Lionsgate Television Group with the promotion of Keith Warren, a 12-year company veteran, to EVP.
While not a replacement for Stern who had a broad range of top-level responsibilities, Warren will serve as Head of Television Business Affairs. In his expanded role, he will be overseeing business affairs for the Television Group, negotiating talent, network and co-production agreements across its slate of scripted series.
Reporting to Lionsgate Television Chair & Chief Creative Officer Kevin Beggs, White will work closely with EVP & Head of Development Scott Herbst and EVP & Head of Current Programming Lee Hollin.
The appointment comes two years after White was promoted to SVP, Television Business Affairs. He will continue to collaborate with the two senior executives in the department, EVPs Ashley Morales and Dan Hadl.
Warren supervises business affairs for The Rookie franchise on ABC — most recently overseeing negotiations for the Season 9 renewal of the mothership and the series order for spinoff The Rookie: North — as well as Ghosts, for which he closed a two-season pickup at CBS last year. Additionally, he leads BA for the Power franchise, including upcoming offshoots Power: Origins and Power: Legacy, and recently closed a series order for The Interrogator at Fox.
“Keith is a highly strategic executive who has played a key role in orchestrating our most important series deals,” Beggs said. “He is deeply respected and exceptionally well liked by our network, streaming and cable partners, as well as by colleagues across the company. His leadership and expertise will be instrumental as we continue to expand our premium scripted slate.”
Over the past year, Lionsgate Television has secured renewals for 12 of its 13 current scripted series. That includes several breakout freshman series that will return for second seasons, Apple TV’s Emmy-winning The Studio, Netflix’s The Hunting Wives, USA Network’s The Rainmaker and MGM+’s Robin Hood.
“I’m incredibly excited to step into this role during a period of continued momentum for Lionsgate Television,” Warren said. “I look forward to partnering with Kevin, Scott, and Lee and to continuing to work closely with Dan and Ashley. I’m also deeply grateful to Sandra Stern – the best in the business – whose mentorship and guidance have been invaluable throughout my career.”
