GTA 6 Map Compared To Red Dead Redemption 2 Leaves Gamers Stunned

[

Grand Theft Auto VI is less than six months away from launch, and fans finally feel like they can get excited about it without too much fear of a delay. That being said, we don’t really know that much about the game considering how close it is, and beyond the two trailers we’ve had so far, we’re mostly left resorting to rumors and leaks to speculate on what the end result is going to be like.

We know quite a few of the main cast of characters, and there’s been quite a lot we can glean about Vice City itself, all of which looks pretty exciting. With that in mind, the wider landscape outside the urban metropolis makes up most of the overall map, and the scale of the whole thing is causing plenty of discussion among fans online.

Over on Reddit, one user shared a post featuring scale maps of many of Rockstar’s open-world games. In case you missed the memo, GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 have been the biggest so far, and you can fit both of this efforts inside GTA VI’s map with room to spare.

As you might expect, the possibilities within a game of this scope are endless, and fans have all sorts of hopes and dreams for the world, when they do finally get to explore it.

“Damn, it’s this much bigger than RDR2‘s map? Guess RDR2‘s map felt huge since we traversed using horses, but it is by no means a small map. Hope GTA VI’s map is as dynamic as RDR2‘s map. Those side missions were something,” one comment read.

“Hopefully, we get more small towns in GTA VI. I’d hate to see all that empty area be just wilderness. Hopefully it doesn’t wind up being like Far Cry 2. I doubt this will be the case and the empty area is just unknown for now, but I still worry,” another added.

While a third said, “I’m glad it’s bigger (the biggest R* map so far), but it still baffles me why they only make incremental increases instead of making a monster jump in size. I want a GTA game with a map the size of Just Cause 2s map.”

Another thinks they will follow the Red Dead formula closely, saying, “Honestly, seeing those maps made me realize that they are probably going to implement a lot of nature and use some RDR2 mechanics to make it attractive and fun. It would make sense as RDR2 was such a success and an entertaining game, while it’s basically a lot of riding a horse in nature. I have no idea how they are going to adapt it to the GTA VI universe in an interesting way, but I’m sure nature will play a part in it.”

However enormous GTA VI’s map does end up being, and however the developer has decided to fill it, we don’t have too long to wait to see what they have been cooking up. We now have a clear run to the November release, and a third trailer should be along quite soon, so it’s best to get ready for what promises to be a pretty major event for gamers everywhere.
