2026’s Most Anticipated Webtoon Announces Major New Release, And It’s Glorious

With series like Solo Leveling, Viral Hit, and Tower of God having paved the way, the coming years are set to bring with them an avalanche of manhwa anime adaptations. For the most part, action webtoons are at the forefront of this oncoming wave, and one particular release that has a lot of eyes on it is Eleceed.

From the same creator as Noblesse, Eleceed has been enjoying comparable, if not greater, success as a webtoon. Now the hit series is eyeing an anime, which is set to release sometime in 2026, and with it, draw in an all-new audience. All that said, before its big anime debut, Eleceed is also eyeing another major release.

After 8 Years, Eleceed Is Finally Coming To Print

Nearly eight years into its run, Eleceed’s webtoon is finally getting an English print release. While physical volumes of the webtoon were only available in Korean so far, with the anime adaptation coming up, the series is finally expanding its horizons, starting with an English physical release.

The series is being published by Inklore, an imprint of Penguin Random House, in partnership with Webtoon, with Volume 1 of Eleceed set to drop on January 19, 2027. The cover of the first volume has also been revealed, featuring Jiwoo and Kayden in his tabby cat form.

Albeit long overdue, this release could not have come at a better time, as with the anime due for 2026, there will certainly be an increased interest in Eleceed and its original webtoon. In particular, there will definitely be those looking to read beyond the anime to find out what happens next, or simply to get more of the series’ hilarious feline goodness.

Eleceed’s Anime Could Get A Major Update Soon

It’s been nearly an entire year since Eleceed’s anime was announced, and while updates haven’t been scarce by any means, the series has yet to lock down an exact release window even halfway into 2026. The anime looks incredibly promising so far, judging by the few snippets in the teaser, and it is very likely the anime will get another update very soon at Anime Expo 2026.

Eleceed will be featured in the MADEBYBILIBILI panel on Day 1 of Anime Expo (July 2), where the series could unveil a new trailer as well as finally announce a release date. The creators of Eleceed are also expected to make a special appearance on Day 3 of Anime Expo (July 4), where fans will likely get an even better glimpse into the anime and its production behind the scenes.

All that said, all we know so far is that Eleceed’s anime is being produced by DandeLion Animation Studio, with Hiroshi Nishikori taking the helm as the series’ director, Yosuke Kuroda in charge of the script, and Minami Sakura handling the character designs. The series has yet to reveal its main voice cast or an exact episode count, though hopefully all this and more will be revealed at Anime Expo. Until then, now’s the perfect time to catch up on Eleceed before the anime drops, more so with the print release coming soon.
