The Pitt may well be the biggest and most talked about show on HBO Max right now, but it’s certainly making a point of going through cast members like it’s going out of fashion. After losing one big cast member last month, another popular character will no longer be appearing — although this time, it’s more of a reassignment within the hospital, rather than leaving altogether.
Shabana Azeez has revealed that Victoria Javadi will no longer be working in the ER in The Pitt Season 3. Speaking with Bustle at the Newport Beach TV Fest, Azeez confirmed that Javadi has “done my ER rotation” and will instead be “doing my psychiatry rotation” when the series returns. The actor described the new direction as “a very different vibe for me,” admitting she is “scared and nervous” to take it on, while also calling it “an honor to be able to show that part of medicine.”
That means Javadi won’t appear in the same ER capacity as previous seasons, but unlike Dr. Samira Mohan, played by Supriya Ganesh, she is still expected to be part of the show. Season 3 will feature a four-month time jump to November, with creator and showrunner R. Scott Gemmill and star/executive producer Noah Wyle previously confirming the new timeline. Writer Simran Baidwan has also said filming on Season 3 will begin in June, with the show still taking place during the same residency year.
