Michael Douglas And Willem Dafoe Reunite With Oliver Stone On New Film

Homer Gere, Yvonne Chapman, Ellen Barkin, Willem Dafoe and Michael Douglas have rounded out the cast of Oliver Stone‘s upcoming pic White Lies as principal photography commences. They join Josh Hartnett and Leila George.

“The cast was a delight from beginning to end. And the Italian crew was the warmest I ever worked with. I’m profoundly grateful for this opportunity,” said Stone.

The project, written and directed by Stone, marks a return to the auteur’s singular storytelling and a departure from his past work, offering an intimate and provocative drama that explores family, loss, pain and uncovers how love can change shape during our lifetimes.

Told across three generations, the film follows Jack Freeman (Hartnett), a child of divorce now repeating his parents’ mistakes in his own marriage and with his own children. Feeling trapped, he embarks on a lust-filled journey to escape—only to find himself more lost than before. When he meets a woman, whose life is the opposite of his own, he begins an unexpected journey on the path of rediscovery.

Fernando Sulichin produces alongside Maximilien Arvelaiz and Jordan Gertner for Sulichin’s New Element Media. Tarak Ben Ammar, Gianluca Leurini of Eagle Pictures join James Packer and Jose Luis Manzano as executive producers
