Figuring out a Father’s Day gift can be tricky at the best of times, and especially if you have a dad that buys everything he wants, or has an aversion to having too much stuff in the house. If your dad falls into that category, a great idea is to buy him a subscription.
There are plenty about, but I’m thinking especially of entertainment options — audiobooks, music, movies and TV. I’ve rounded up some of my top picks below, many of which have a deal available, so you might be able to pick up, say, six months of a service, when usually your budget would only stretch to a couple. Then, when that period is up, your dad can decide if he wants to continue on with the subscription himself or not.
One standout is Audible. This is Amazon‘s audiobook service, with 900,000 titles to choose from. A subscription entitles you to one new download a month, and you’ll get to keep your previous downloads for as long as you’re a member. Unlimited access to podcasts in an added perk that means you won’t have to app-hop. This is a great gift for dads who commute — I know so many people who love to listen to a book on the way to and from work.
If your dad is an avid reader and owns a Kindle (or might be buying one in the upcoming Prime Day sales), an Unlimited subscription gives you access to millions of ebooks for free — as well as unlocking thousands of audiobooks, and a selection of digital magazines, too.
