When Batman and Superman join forces, you have one of the mightiest pairs in pop culture. It seems almost unfair to throw “Weird Al” Yankovic into that mix, but that’s exactly what DC is doing with a new crossover comic called Batman/Superman/Weird Al: World’s Weirdest.
Batman/Superman/Weird Al: World’s Weirdest brings these three heroic icons together for a one-shot adventure that spans the Fifth Dimension. Check out the slideshow gallery below to see cover art for this issue:
Batman/Superman/Weird Al: World’s Weirdest #1 is written by Batman/Superman: World’s Finest’s Mark Waid and drawn by features interior art and a main cover by Dan Schoening (Ghostbusters). DC teases that Yankovic himself contributes “vibes” to this issue, so take that for what you will. Here’s the official summary for Batman/Superman/Weird Al: World’s Weirdest #1:
The fifth dimension is being hit with an affliction that turns everything dull and ordinary, but as Mr. Mxyzptlk reaches out to Superman and Batman for help, the same plague has struck Earth! Instead of dialing H for a hero, there’s only one person to call: “Weird Al”! Get ready for a wild one-shot where the one and only “Weird Al” Yankovic joins the World’s Finest team!
Weird Al fans may remember that this isn’t the first time he’s crossed paths with the Caped Crusader. The iconic parody singer previously guest-starred in an episode of Batman: The Brave and the Bold, one which also featured Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc. gang.
Batman/Superman/Weird Al: World’s Weirdest #1 will be released on September 2. You can preorder a copy at your local comic shop.
